I stood there
The midnight waves lapping against my bare chest
The black ocean
Sending waves over me
Taking with it every weary breathe
And pouring back into me salt and mystery

And though I could see nothing
I felt no fear
For if I died in the ocean
My soul would live forever with the one thing that always understood it
