Aug 2015
my mouth is like a desert
sore, raw, and sandy
a place the heat of the midday Sun
decided to rest in
now I blow radiation from lips
chapped and flaking pink skin
I could eat a lizard fresh just for its blood
to trickle on my swollen purple tongue
but reaching for the red wine in the fridge
is so much easier.
