Your heartbeat's a flutter,
Leaves on the breeze.
Skipping along merrily,
Dodging the freeze.
It's fragile and sensitive,
Held in my hands.
For me to warm and foster,
And plant in the sands.
Your heartbeat will grow there,
Become something strong.
Thumping with life and love,
Right where you belong.
