There used to be a girl I knew and we'd dance under lights
Didn't think about the future, forgot the present life

There used to be a town I knew but the homes are boarded up
Make room for the city, make room for the trucks.

There used to be a train I took, it went to the valley and back
Now the valley's but gone now - trees grow in the tracks

I used to be the president, now I'm just another resident
You be the king and I'll be the joker so you can't fool me.

Time and space, they have no place
In my mind, we'll all move on.
This poem is also a song I wrote.
