I know why the caged bird sings
It sings of help
It sings of being set free
It sings to tell its story
One of injustice and immorality
It sings to plead to passers by
'Oh please set me free'
It sings to say hello
It sings to say goodbye
It sings to congratulate it's brethren who have reached the sky
It sings to mourn for those yet unable to fly
It sings it's song all night and all day
In hopes Someone would understand
In hopes someone would relay its words
