There she was.
Suspended in water,
The fireman's daughter.

There she sank.
Over in that lake,
In the middle of a quake.

There she screamed.
With no one to hear her,
With no one near her.

There she fought.
Clutching at life,
Impaled on a knife.

There she died.
A thieving botched,
As a little boy watched.

There she was.
There she died,
As a little boy cried.
