I knew you once
So close so near
a whisper soft
like summer breeze
I lost you once
and felt a tear
As winter chill scoffed
and took you with ease
There with you fled
half my heart
and now the other stands
shattered like crystal wine
left  in imperfect pieces
the smokey road where I now tread
my life mapped out like a star chart
searching in empty lands
pretending to the world I am fine
As I try to repair the pieces
