The universe is ever expanding onward,
Into the nothingness of space an abyss.
As a child I dreamt of the stars beyond,
Even now I often look up and reminisce.

Once I hoped to learn of everything,
Now I know it can never be, fast it flings,
It will never slow enough for me to grasp.

Someday the celestial lights from which,
Our atoms sprung will blink of of existence.
Something as permanent as the sun will fade.
Nothing lasts when change is the only constant.
