As a father I was over the top
she was my first and I was her pop
so every time someone held her
inside I'd think, don't drop the baby

I had eyes like a hawk
when people held her and talked
and if I heard her squeal
she would be back in my arms, for real

I hated giving her away to others
even to her own mother
please don't drop the baby
because I utterly love her
