Holy Forgiveness
I’m not worried about why
I just want to know what
I’m not afraid of sinners
You have room to open up
Everybody has their own taste
I don’t think much about yours
That’s part of getting old
I’m autumn leaves making floors
Holy forgiveness
It’s more than I can do
That kind of acceptance
Is for people worse than you
You turned out a certain way
But I’m not the one who did it
Unless I really meant that much
I must have been your cigarette
Holy forgiveness
It was easier with you
The things you did to me
Are nothing compared to what I do
I thought about it enough
I know where I went wrong
Whatever I did to you
It's pulling us both along
Holy forgiveness
It’s hard to accept what’s true
I’ve never been the one
Who had the right to forgive you
