Mystery Girl
Valentine's Day is not a
Day for those in love
To show their love
That's an everyday thing
It's a day for the lonely
Made to make them
Feel even more alone
To feel unloved
Unwanted
It's a day
To sell chocolate
That'll make them
Feel slightly better
Before it all gets worse

We are all one
recycled energy
fluxing in and
                         out
               of existence.
We are but waves,
pulling each other
under, and bursting
into the light with
burning lungs,
flowing through the motions
of
daily life.

Sink or swim?
You decide. ~

Joshua Haines
My stomach
churns
acid.

I lay in bed,
counting
the sheep
in me.

And I
hate myself
for every
lost cause
I find and
pet.

I want to
cut open my
stomach
and burn
the wool off
the sheep
with the
churned
acid.

Jesus loves me,
yes I know.
For my nation
tells me so.
Cut the wool
off of every one.
My words go on
but I am done.

Yes, Jesus loves me.
****, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me--
my nation tells me so.

emptiness is great
it clears way for reflection
in a way you're free

the reason to wake is to kiss the day
and be kissed back awake
by the fineness of the thinking mind
and a heart so big it breaks
on the shores of everyday madness
she bleeds a little tear and rushes
to set right the wrongs of mankind
kissing a wound here and there and here again
she wakes to a brand new day

her voice rose from a heart alive and dying
dying for love so vacant-

in a world of poets
poets bleed-out often
