I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you—Nobody—Too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise—you know!

How dreary—to be—Somebody!
How public—like a Frog—
To tell one’s name—the livelong June—
To an admiring Bog!

I am sorry

I was greedy and wanted more
I am sorry

I was miles away from you
I couldn't help feeling lonely
I am sorry

I thought I couldn't love you
I am sorry

I tried to make myself love someone else
someone who could be by myself
I am sorry

the truth is,
I loved you five years ago,
and I love you now
you think that I am a liar
I am sorry

you found someone else
I am sorry

I want you back.
but I know you don't.
I am sorry.

I want to make it right.
I want to make you mine
I am finally stepping into the city you live in
for a year
I am finally close to you physically
but you don't want to see me
and I am sorry

right now, all I can say is
I am sorry
and even that can't change anything

I am sorry.

purple orchid
Watch as the sun
Slowly slides over the horizon
Leaving behind a touch of
Pearly pinks, dusky purples
And vibrant hues of red
Ah there,
Battered dreams quickly wither
Darkness settles in,
The crystal envoys
Paint a portrait of
Pure serenity

Hope is reborn
Our destinies are within our
Reach as our dreams soon
Come to realization
It's a beautiful ambiance
And the solid gold
Paints over the Eastern side
And it's overwhelming beauty
Is welcomed by those
With expectations of
Bettering their present

I made you a mix-tape and called it leaves,
because your hair reminds me of autumn when they fall from the trees

I made you a mix-tape and called it snow,
because your pupils remind me of ice and where it grows

I made you a mix-tape and called it warm
because your smile reminds me of the sun and it’s yours to adorn

I made you a mix-tape and called it new
Because you remind me of the flowers that bloom.

Welcome to America
     Where education is top priority
                   With the exception of football

Welcome to America
Where we believe in world peace
We also believe in the biggest military in the world

Welcome to America
Where all men and women are created equal
But being gay is the greatest sin

Welcome to America
Where we like to make fun of everybody
                 Just don't call us fat

Welcome to America
Where we love our food so much
We've managed to make it fake

Welcome to our great patriotic country of America
We might as well be the only country in the world
Seriously, if it wasn't for us, the nazis would still be in power

What's more deadly
A gun or a thought?

A gun gives you the opportunity,
But a thought pulls the trigger.

All that is gold does not glitter,

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.

Rain

Shel Silverstein
I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.

i once dated a boy who found it "adorable" that i know how to change my headlights
     fill my radiator
     change the oil
and notice every stopsign as i'm halfway through it
he dumped me via text

before that
there was a boy who loved my lack of first person capitalization
my over-use of metaphores and similies
the way i personify the night
and practice preforming poetry in the shower
he took off into the sunset with my journal in his shoulder-sack

and somewhere in between
i stopped asking myself what it means
threw up my hands
and learned to enjoy the ride
"every day, it's a'gettin closer,
rolling faster than a roller coster.
love like yours..."
