Someone once said,
"A good pun is it's own reword."

But a bad pun
makes me want to strangle a newborn kitten
and then dropkick it into the Cretaceous Period
where it will hopefully be eaten by a Velociraptor
then **** out in a pool of molten lava
and preserved under the earth for the rest of time
but forgotten and ignored by all.

We're following the full moon
Morrison crooning "LA Woman"
dancing around the burning fire pit
remembering a prehistoric time when
we helped share light with the tribe
through heavy exhales
the lung-piercing smoke signals
sashay toward the midnight stage in the sky.

As we dance around the fire
orange embers laugh crackling
illuminating the dark midnight
all are thankful for brief moments
of smoke blanket warmth on our backs
waiting to be tucked in by the glowing moon.

Too soon do we trapse back to reality
smashing glass bottles
to satisfy some primal urge
for ancient chaos screaming energy echoed
in caves and canyons years before the pyramids were even an idea.

Can I even say I'm lost
if I've never felt at home?
Can I even say I'm scared
if I've never felt safe?
Can I even say I'm dying
if I've never felt alive?

Going home to empty my veins
out over the coffee table
When you called me crazy
you must've bit your tongue
I'm a walking panic attack
Clenched fists and red eyes
I'm a suicide note all torn to shreds
in the trash can at the top of the stairs
And I'm just aching to pretend
that I'm still trying to stay alive
With my fingers crossed behind my back
and dug six inches deep into my spine
I'm faking it just hard enough
to sleep uninterrupted

It was night time when we met them,
The Punks awaiting Pizza,
Outside of Domino's on the main street of town.
Myself, and two friends were walking home
On the lamp lit streets.

One called out
"Want a game of skate?"
And Josh, who carried a skate board, agreed.
Indie and I sat down beside their leader as we watched their game.

"How are you guys tonight?" He asked us,
"Good thanks" we replied,
And heard a little moan
The lead punk moved,
And from inside his denim jacket a puppy poked out his head.

We crooned;
"Oh he's gorgeous, what's his name?"
"Chaos."
The punk replied.
Of course.
We petted chaos on the head.

A girl punk came out from round the corner,
"It's still not out." She told him.
"What are you waiting for?" We asked.
"We ordered pizza," He said
"We're just waiting for them to stop waiting for someone to pay.
When they throw it out, we get free pizza."
We laughed, we'd never heard such a plan before.

The girl held three avocados in her hands
I asked if she'd got them from New World,
I'd been excited that they were on special this week
"No," She replied,
"I got them for free. Out of a dumpster."
"Oh."

"So, are you guys like real punks then?"
"Yeah guess you could say that." The leader said.
"We don't respect society, and they don't respect us."
"We've been crashing in abandoned houses.
Some landlord found us the other day,
But he didn't really care,
Cause we hadn't broken any windows."

Josh won the game of skate.
And we got up to leave,
"Nice to meet you guys." We said,
"Good to meet you too." They replied
"Keep safe."

Crack-- creek--snap!

WINGS explode from my back
learning to fly is a *****
but my third-eye antennae
                is reading a world atlas
                            ready to traverse....

Crack-- creek--snap!

Waking up to a trashed apartment
my mind insists everything must go!
That includes the world's most comfortable sofa
in that ugly pea soup olive green where I've probably spent too much time *******.

Crack-- creek--snap!

When I meditate in the shower
                    everything is dark.
The closest thing to sensory depravation.
I travel to realms of talking green lions
and electric purple snakes that sway
and I crave to stay in the emerald caves
       with the copulating mind flowers.
But I'm learning to fly now.

Crack-- creek--snap!
Like a time machine I go back into memory land present them in the future
What I felt and know has changed time after time
Over and over again find inner peace relive and find solutions to the problem
Connect reconnect don't ever want the same failed out come to occur
That moment things could've been changed turned out the way they did
I'm not going to pretend all the bad was good
But if I could relive all the good I would do so in a heart beat same every time
With the bad comes good  good can go bad
Doesn't matter make I through till the end
