I held her in my gaze on the iron rail of summer noon.

This moment of humid silence wetting her heat burn cheeks

I knew would melt pretty soon.

Like moisture droplets on her lips and her palm’s sweat

This heavenly moment would retreat

With its phantoms of fancy it’s never too late!

Then sobered and in saner head

We would find our place under the banyan’s cool shade.
As he so thinly and lightly floated up
He saw a ****** mess crowded around.

He understood and not bothering his weightlessness

Thought I must now find my way home.

Over the mesh of cables and wires
Above the teeming dots of men and machines
He skimmed the noiseless air beyond pain.

Now I know they spoke of what gain.

Once found he thought of landing on the roof
Melt through the attic door and be right beside her
But he didn’t want to give her a scare.

He would rather take the front door.

He held to the belief he needed no mirror.

It proved right as she was just mildly surprised.

He wished he could hold her hand and say

I’m back early for you today.

But there was so little time for the frivolousness

And supposing he wouldn’t be there the next instance

Started to speak.

I came back just to tell how much I love you.

She responded in a beaming radiant face

This is madness

To have come back for what I always knew

And then as he lifted her in a demonic strength

Giggled I love you too.

When she rose to silence the phone’s ring

She didn’t see him take wing

To go home in the wind’s flow!
I clenched your hand
Feeling your rhythm straight from your palm
Your heart was pumping a sad man's song
That brought me to tears
I could trace your fears
"You're never alone"

Your words fell like rain
Leaking your pain
as you strained to hold back the release
With your stiff upper lip I could see
It had been far too long
"It's ok, you're never alone"

I fell in love with you then
In that one intimate moment
Feeling the need to bring you into me
To shelter you from the storm
To this day I'll continue to say
"Don't worry,you're never alone"
I want you.
All of you.
All of your flaws and so called mistakes.
I want you.

I want you.
I want you,
when you wake up at 3 a.m,
crying,
because of a bad dream.

I need you.
I need you,
because I’m needy.
I need you,
to hold me,
when I wake up at 3 a.m,
crying,
because of a bad dream.

Wake me up,
at 3 a.m,
because you suddenly,
felt the urge,
to kiss my lips.

I don’t mind,
at all,
to wake up,
at 3 a.m,
because of you.

Last night I prayed
Softly, peacefully, and still,
No strain, no grief, no disbelief,
No doubting of His will,

Last night I prayed
Softly for His strength,
Since I am weak.

Then with peace-of-mind
Worries and stress left behind
I quietly fell asleep.
"She is so cute!"**
said the grand mother type
in McDonalds today.
"Yes I have heard that said.
Every where we go."

Miss Personality makes
an impression...
on the young and the old.
Purely unintentional.
Little head strong at times.
Mostly when awake.
She will go far.

Disagreements with Nana
can be fun at times,
'"Lucy! Don't do that! No!"
Can ping pong three times.
Then must stop.  Or else!

On hearing the verbal
exchange between
the two one day
Gpa asked Miss Lucy,
"What part of 'NO'
do you not understand?"

The reply coming from
Miss Congeniality was an
emphatic "The N."

Gpa left the room.
Laughing held to elsewhere.
Reporting to Nana.

She is cute at times.
Four now...
going on fourteen.
But still cute.
And I have to put up with this daily.
Further editing may happen... at times.
Grandma was wrapping gifts
Lucy, four, was "helping".
One of those times when
help slows you down.

Me, I am sacked out on the sofa
Waiting for sanity to return
and relieve me of a bad cold.

Grandma went to the kitchen
Lucy stayed wrapping.
In a few, she comes over to my hole
where I am residing and says,
"Grandpa, I brought you a present."

I looked up and there she stands.
Wrapping paper taped around her arm.
She said, "Go ahead and open it Grandpa."
"Open it?  Your arm?"
being a little slow.
"Yes Grandpa open your present."

She stands there with this
expectant expression beaming.
A moment later the fog cleared
Grandpa open the wrapped arm
and with great "surprise" exclaimed!
"This is the best Christmas present ever."
"I love it!"
I kissed her arm and Lucy's face
as a smile spread across her face.
"This is the best Christmas present
ever Lucy.  Thank you!"

And she was off to the next adventure.
Never know what she will come up with.
Every day is an adventure.
Soon his car was full of scars.

Was a time
He kept it clear of grime
Dusted off even a speck of soil
Put in his labors all his toil
To see
His car scratch free.

But in this running game
One after the other came
Streaks upon streaks of rough embrace
Leaving behind the ugly trace
Of unerasable scars
On his new car

Now he sings in philosophic mode
*Scratch is inevitable as you run on the road
You can travel only that far
Beyond which waits the first scar.
Yes, freaky man on bus
Those are my *******, I'm sure
You must have seen a pair before?
I can tolerate a quick glance,
But is there any chance
You could take your stare elsewhere
For at least some of this journey?
I saw you pay in cash
At least you're getting your money's worth, at my expense.
I'd crotch-watch, pointedly,
Except there isn't much to see.
(On buses in London you have to pay twice the fare if you use cash, as opposed to an oyster or debit card)
"Sydney?"

The Young Lady's Green Eyes Looked Up From A Heap Of Homework.

"Yes?"

Her Eyes Examined The Man Which Stood In Front Of Her. His Jet Black Hair Was Now Streaked With Small Strands Of Silver. His Gray Eyes Seemed Tired, But They Were The Same As They've Always Been.

The Man Looked At The Young Women Who Sat Before Him. Her Body Which Was Now Lean And Toned Was Supported By Long Legs. She Was Older Now: Her Heart Shaped Face Was Slightly Worn, But Her Eyes Were As Deep And Green As They'd Always Been.

"Promise Me Something."

The Man Watched The Young Lady As She Examined The Room Around Her; Just As She Had Since She Was A Child. Sometimes He Caught Her Watching A Bird Hopping In The Greenest Of Grasses On A Summer Afternoon, Or Intently Examining The Veins In A Leaf During The Fall Months.

The Young Lady Watched The Man's Thin Lips Set Back Into A Straight Line.

"Promise Me, You'll Always Stay The Same."

The Young Women Smiled As The Man Placed His Hand Upon Her Head; Gently Ruffling Her Soft Brown Hair.

"Daddy, The Only Way I'd Change Is If It Was For The Better."
I Love My Dad. If My Dad Wants You To Stay The Same, You Know You're Doing Something Right.
