Seattle in the snow

Ordinary dailiness
On and on we go

Postcards
   Madness
       Desperation
                Hope.

I gave her my troubled letter
She gave me Hope for the Flowers

Ferry boats in blue
Me reading alone

When I traveled in Taiwan
I often took the train

I remember the typhoons
Relentless was the rain

Passed and prayed a Dragon temple
Daily on my way to school

The students most respectful
My sons a-swimming in the pool

Taiwan an island in the ocean
Some say the South China Sea

The Buddha and Confucius protect thepeople
Asian islands inside me.

Just a few little poems
Quiet in the night
Go down, Go down, Moses
Go down with a fight

A river runs through it
Puzzling our plight
Try to renew it
Mother Mary might

                 Water!

Grateful for fearless sleep
Dreaming of foreign lands
