My dearest Emily
I wake surprised to find
That I, a solitary man,
Have your soul inside my mind

Some see solitude
As lonely and forlorn
They do not know quite how
The sacred sounds are born

I've never been to Heaven
But I have been to the sea
And O, the Wild Nights!
Alive, alive in you and me

Did you wear the white
To symbolize your search?
And would you hear the prayer
Of one raised in the Catholic Church?

Please protect my family
Touch my seeker's heart
And crush with Infinite power
The lie that women create no great Art!
In my solitude
        Aging
      miss you
