Does heartbreak
keep track of time?
Years have passed and yet
the cracks will not subside.
Time has a way of morphing

siren scent.

from your book-
to tear out my pages
one by one
and rewrite the story
of you and I.

rather than
mentally tired
at the end of
each day.

world growing uglier,
as is the number of those
who wish to extinguish
the flames of hope
and freedom.
