I find myself plugged in
Into high anxiety
When I'm faced with next to nothing
On my lowering level of battery

Everything I think I need
Is tethered with a power cord
Electricity has control over me
A simple fact I find hard to ignore

I'll likely get the nervous jitters
When devices start running low
Well, you know I ain't no quitter
The man in me, aways on the go

I find myself plugged in
To the nearest socket that comforts me
To keep it all clearly running
I'm deathly afraid to even skip a beat

I get the major shivers and shakes
When the battery shows 50 or below
I only hope I didn't make a mistake
And leave my charger back home alone

Out of all the issues of the day
This one really gets to me
How many out there can relate
To Battery Anxiety

...and could you spare an extra plug for me

the color blue
has many shades to choose
on different days
in different moods
what does it all mean to you
this color we call blue

does it tend to make you sad
when you recollect the past
or collect your thoughts on what's ahead
count the cost of all that's left
and where it fits best
in that color's grip

or do you look beyond
the color scheme of the path you're on
deep ocean blue or bright sky morn
heightened colors to smile upon
does the blue comfort you
or make you feel alone

the color blue
has all the moods
that it cares to place on you
on what it takes to get you through
the pastel truth it has for you
this the color blue

In these days I often find
I pray all the time
When life is going well
Or standing at the gates of hell

You often will find me
Battered, down on my knees
Mind you, not knocked down
I'm kneeling there on solid ground

To make it through this life
I pray all the time
No use in worrying
Talking with The Risen King

You might see me, a lowly debtor
Forgiven, blessed, and delivered
One that's been set free
By The One who rescued me

That's why I have in mind
To pray all the time
It's in my plan to never cease
With Christ being my greatest need

Even if the walls are closing in
I don't waste time in worrying
The bible tells all I need to know
My God is in complete control

And that my friend is why
I pray all the time...

In the wake, who is to say
Mistakes we've made along the way
Aren't just life lessons on display
If we would only treat them that way

Who is to show, what we know
About them only helps us grow
It seems to be a needed hope
In these days of do's and don'ts

I'm afraid we've lost our way
In the wake of all the blame
Not a one of us could name
A single one of us are the same

Learn to accept the differences
In what we have more or less
Adds a level we might have missed
If we had not taken the chance

On mistakes along the way
In the wake of what we say
Life lessons in the make
Plainly here on display

This pain
In our lives makes its way
To stand up and have its say
In our every day to day

We complain
In conversations made
More often as of late
From the things we create

Where hate
Finds a way to take away
Love in its state of grace
In our every day to day

We maintain
That it's going to be okay
Justifying things, we do and say
Consequences never weighed

We say
We are ready for a change
But through it all we stay the same
In our every day to day

At this rate
If we remain this way, unchanged
There will be nothing left to save
I only hope we're not too late

It's not what you have
But what you don't
Not what you need
But what you want
That you think will make you happy
But it won't

It's not what you know
But what you see
Not what's going on
But what you tend to believe
That you think will make you happy
However brief

It's not in the moment
But the moment to come
Or how much you give
But the amount taken from
That you think will make you happy
But it won't

But the thing that will
Is the giving of self
When you focus on others
Being willing to help
That will make you happy
Above everything else

Do you know what time it is
Without a watch someone might ask

How much time do we have left
Asking those who have a task

Could you spare some time for me
One might plead who has a need

About what time should we leave
Question those with somewhere to be

How much time can be spent
We ask of those who know no end

When will you know the time is right
In this time of fight or flight

Time you'll find never hides
Plain as day, in plain sight

Time is always standing by
To makes its way, flip or fly

Time will also make demands
Hour, minute, second hands

If you keep the time in mind
It drags on till the end of time

Time in truth stares back at you
And there's not a thing that you can do

With the time that you have
In the end there's little left
