There's a failure to acknowledge failure
In this prideful world of today
To admit you were wrong, change it up then move on
And not be stuck in that single mind state

Not a soul here has their act together
If you must know the truth
Some just fake it better than others
Something I have yet learned how to do

But I do acknowledge when I've done something wrong
And try my best to learn from it
Every time that I fall, get up dust myself off
Then try not to do it again

Have we not seen throughout history
That failure can be a learning curve
When you see what went wrong, make a U-turn
Leaving it far behind in the dirt

Instead of having it on steady repeat
To do it over and over again
What do they say about insanity
Expecting it to work out in the end

I'm not saying to embrace the failure
Just acknowledge that it's there
When you slip from the trip quickly get over it
In this game we play of truth or dare
Failure is everywhere
Got this idea from my favorite Pod caster, Andrew Klavan (the man's a genius)

Be who you want to be
Whoever you are
Say what you feel you need
Whoever you are
Follow along happily
Or gladly take the lead
Free to be free
Whoever you are

Be a part of society
Whatever you think
Voice your opinion out loudly
Whatever you think
But in fairness to the game
Allow others to do the same
At times show a little refrain
Whatever you think

Be a shining light
Wherever you are
A sign of the times
Wherever you are
Be someone who
Someone out there can turn to
Be the authentic you
Wherever you are

Try and get along
Whenever you can
Do your best to right the wrongs
Whenever you can
Hold compassion in your hand
Then shake as many hands as you can
Calling everyone your friend
Whenever you can

Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
These are the three
I need the most
With them at the helm
I am able to cope
A smidgen of faith
A handful of hope
Throughout the day
I am never alone
With the three
I need the most
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost

Do you remember
Our younger days
We had so much
To give away
Now here we are
With little left
Do you my dear
Remember that
When we had
No secrets kept

Open to
What came of life
Not a one of us
Picked a side
Do you remember
What that was like
When we thought we lived
In paradise
Before the darkness
Came to light

Took ahold
The stories told
Knew that we
Could change the world
Where did it go
Where have we been
Do you my dear
Remember when
We were good
At remembering

Here one minute
Gone the next
From what you were
To nothing left
All except
The memory
That too soon
Will also leave

Every picture
Of you will fade
Until they're finally
Thrown away
No one remembers
Your look, your name
Gone out as fast
As you came in

Here one minute
Then out of sight
Thought you'd win it
Not this time
When you stood up
Life knocked you down
Better luck
Next go around

Some have a hard time in drawing
From the experience that life has given
Always in need of help whether bold or pastel
In interpreting the art of living

Being a sign of the times in grand design
Trying to hang the picture perfect life
As they're craving their niche or taking brush strokes to it
A happy medium they have yet to find

Not patient enough most just give up
At the opening of their life's museum
With empty frame that bares only a name
In interpreting the art of living

I find I need something new to write
Instead of the same old, same old
Lines I use from time to time
As stories told tend to unfold

Something with a tad of pizazz
Brilliance with a bite
Take a stand as I take a stab
At something new inside the rhyme

Dive deep into my psyche
Allow myself to splash about
See what I can stir up
Before I'm found down for the count

Something new to keep this going
New lines to help entice
Let go the old that I am holding
Something new to the way I write

Begin a new beginning
A new palate on the plate
In the flavor of mind bending
As something new makes its way,
in what I have to say today
