I hate to break this to you
Or bend you out of shape
But you're not the center of the universe
In which we all rotate

If you could see past, the you're all that
And take a needed breath
Maybe then you'd understand
That you're a Narcissist

If you had your way, every turn of the page
Would be a chapter about you
And every line of I, me, mine
Would be written in all the good you do

But you don't see that do you
That's not where your head is at
You wouldn't know the truth if it bit you
Because you're a Narcissist

Better served with the last word
In any given situation
The rest of us should be seen not heard
In your world of *******

With all of us your subject
Here to do your every wish
Without you we'd be nothing
Because you're a Narcissist

Did Billy really give out Wet *******
Like they said all of his life
When he was out cruising and found people snoozing
He'd always find time to sneak up behind

Licking his finger like he'd just had chicken dinner
Without the slightest of sound
Then ever so gently, placing it intently
Squishly into the ear canal

Was it the single action or multiple reaction
That always seemed to satisfy
From the loads of screaming, Billy would be reeling
Chuckling with pure delight

With a glistening finger in hand always lingering
Looking to wow the crowed
You knew a Wet Willie from the hand of Billy
Would soon be making the rounds

From a Sunday church pew he knew what to do
Or even a Friday bus ride
Perhaps the innocence of a lonely park bench
Singled out on the Upper East Side

At Billy's bequest, Wet ******* were best
When they came packaged up in a surprise
It could be said if you hadn't already guessed
That Billy found his purpose in life

They paused it for a second
And not a minute too late
To discuss the here and now
All at a later date

They met out in the middle
To come up with a plan
Passed around a bowler hat
Filled it with demands

Said that they'd get back to it
As soon as they both could
With a grin, spit in the wind
Then promised that they would

Neither could remember
Where they'd drawn lines in the sand
But with the swarm of cluster bombs
There was really nothing left

Plus, they had forgotten
What they were fighting for
But that has never mattered
So, they went back to war

I never really cared or ever prepared
Nor kept a list of does and don'ts
Had an attitude of whatever suits you
And just went along with the flow

But like every day brings about change
The sun is always chased by the moon
It's never too late to have your say
In the way you warm up to the truth

With no reason in life to flip, flop, or fly
Or even give up the ghost
I seemed to pass by all of the signs
And just went along with the flow

From A, B, and C all the way through to Z
I had not a care to my name
With a deep-seated need to always be free
I never played along with the games

I now take with a grain, things tossed my way
Never giving up hope on the highs and the lows
As I make my way through the grind of the day
And still go along with the flow

you may come to wonder
exactly where i am
between the cracks and crevices
of this life i'm living in

search hard enough for the real me
and you are bound to find
i am on the in's and out's
of the poetry i write

aloof and torn asunder
i sometimes disappear
once the center of attention
now no longer here

call it second nature
or call it second sight
i will often show up
in the poetry i write

to the point of giving out
or even giving up
throw my plans into the wind
as i have had enough

that is when my pen and i
take a deeper dive
only then to surface in
the poetry i write

They keep on stirring the waters
Adding their brand of heebie-jeebies
While the rest of us are fighting the current
Swimming downstream from crazy

They make for us a **** load of problems
Then tell us where we have gone wrong
When what we only want out of this mess
Is for all of us to get along

They call us every name in their picture book
If we go against the daily melee
Judge us all by the way we look
Swimming downstream from crazy

Never much use in us arguing
Not a wise thing to do with fools
When the one percent is the loudest
And maker of all the rules

This has all gone on far too long
If you ask me, we're in too deep
Sold down the river for an out of tune song
Swimming downstream from crazy

Where is your mindset at the moment
What is your view on life
Do you count on the here and now
Or the forever Grace of Jesus Christ

How do you see the scheme of things
In this race you daily face
Where do you find true meaning
In whom do you place your faith

Where do you see your destiny
In a box in the cold damp ground?
Or are you one who believes
That in Jesus all hope is found

What type of news do you cling to
In this world of good and bad
When given the choice what do you do
And when it's through what will be left
