Me and You Jan 2021
You've touched a fountain buried
so deep
it surges
through you
greets
every single cell
transforms you
as you were
dear
as you were
with all your power
  Jan 2021 Me and You
Tanisha Jackland
Do not dig me out
for the seedling cannot
sustain itself
under the weight
of your pressure
it needs sustenance
for growth and
bread from the moon

i watch you lick
your ashen lips
I am as thirsty
and have seen
the clear waters
but drink me
instead

i keep a tiger's
eye below my breast
just in case I lose the nerve
to enter you
my beautiful labyrinth
your glance
speaks hard
like diamond jewels

come and dazzle
the way
Me and You Jan 2021
A young girl playing
recklessly
in the fire
orange lashes curl
unburned
while everything stands
to her aid
Me and You Jan 2021
A silver stream of knowledge
in the cold winter air
surrounds you
holds
to ask you
for permission;
this is not a dream
I love snow.
Me and You Jan 2021
A curvy figure rises breaks
through the water surface shakes off
all limitations
her hand still remembers the touch
of the sandy ground
under water
a promise
the wind whirls around her body
curls
her fingers in apprehension:
She is ready
Can you see it?
Me and You Jan 2021
a fish flies
through the night air
hardly remembering
he was not born
a bird

a word swims
through the ocean
almost remembering
its destination

a grim old man
feels his heart turn soft
and decides to go
with it for once
Me and You Jan 2021
You walk in front of me, your footsteps soundless but steady and safe, your pearly skin that so amuses me glowing in the dark.
I follow this glow, always, gathering the silvery snowflakes
falling out of your hair at times.
You gather yourself around me if needed, if you want me to keep
my eyes open despite all the arrows and daggers. You do not seem
to mind, feel it yes, but to mind -
You just look at me silently, cracking the tiniest smile as if saying
I do this all the time and you know it.
And I know it.
