When the green woods laugh with the voice of joy,
And the dimpling stream runs laughing by;
When the air oes laugh with our merry wit,
And the green hill laughs with the noise of it;

When the meadows laugh with lively green,
And the grasshopper laughs in the merry scene;
When Mary, and Susan, and Emily
With their sweet round mouths sing, "Ha, ha, he!"

When the painted birds laugh in the shade,
When our table with cherries and nuts is spread:
Come live, and be merry, and join with me,
To sing the chorus of "Ha, ha, he!"

William Blake*   **1757--1827

Laughter merry and sweet
Rings out across the mountains
And valleys
Hills and dales
Laughter merry and sweet
Chimes out across the oceans
And blue-green seas
Laughter merry and sweet
Does the heart good
And is a medicine for pain
If you still aren't happy
Crack a joke or two
And then see if you're not laughing
Along with me too
Giggles are like music
Sometimes good, sometimes bad
When done in moderation
It's the perfect pill
For heartache, depression,
Loneliness, fear, and pain
Laughter merry and sweet
Rings out across the earth
Like bells chiming
And tinkling
In a shady forest

Life is like a journey
A journey towards the sky
A long and weary journey
One of life and death
Life is a like a journey
A journey towards the sea
A sea of time and each grain
Of sand is added to the hourglass
Of our lives*

The breeze slightly stirred
The beautiful trees
The sun would come out
Only to take a peek of Nature's beauty
Then vanish behind the veil of celestial sky
Such a beautiful day it is
And I really think it is
A beautiful one
Nobody seemed
To notice
The beauty
That I did
On that
Lovely
Day

It's a beautiful day and I was inspired to write this!!! ~<3

The sky is matching the blue of the sea,
This place is a treasure for me,
The lighthouse is sitting on a rocky island;
Near the shore with cool sand.

The sun is ready to sink in the sky,
Yet the Lighthouse remains sitting on it's island on high,
The blue waves are in motion;
In the sapphire ocean.

Oh, such beauty is seen here,
This place I hold very dear,
With the green moss growing on the island;
Which stands next to the shore of sand.

I love the sky of blue,
With it's pretty white clouds passing through,
This place is so pretty;
This place is lovely!

I love this place don't you see?
That I hold this place dear to me?
This place is so beautiful I could cry;
This place that I can only see in my mind's eye.

Marian May 2013
The sweet perfume of lilacs
Drift across the air
Filled with the song of birds
Singing in the branches
Of tall strong trees
A little hollow of lilacs
Is where we held
Those beautiful tea parties
On the fresh spring ground
Petals dancing in the breeze
Little dainty tea cups
Tinkling
Little delicate sweets
Put upon beautiful plates
As we sat in the hollow of lilacs

**~Marian~
This was partly in my imagination. The rest was because I was remembering the tea parties me and my Mom used to have outside together. ~<3

I heard a thousand blended notes,
While in a grove I sate reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Brings sad thoughts to the mind.

To her fair works did Nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man had made of man.

Through primrose tufts, in that green bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And 'tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.

The birds around me hopped and played,
Their thoughts I cannot measure;
But the least motion which they made,
It seemed of thrill pleasure.

The budding twigs spread out their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.

If this belief from heaven be sent,
If such be Nature's holy plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What has man made of man?

Little kitty friends are sweet,
They sometimes rub against my feet,
Little kitty friends make me smile;
And they brighten my every mile.
Little kitty friends are God's blessings from above,
Come to fill this world with love,
Little kitty friends are everywhere;
But remember: do handle yours with care!

Loneliness is like those ferns
Which grow in the forest alone
Loneliness is like those flowers
Which dance in the meadow
All by themselves
Loneliness is like a palm tree
Standing--growing on the shore alone
Looking out towards the ocean
Without any other palm trees
Loneliness is like a waterfall
Roaring mightily
All by himself
Loneliness is like a Fairy
Crying all alone
Sitting on a mushroom
All by herself
With no other Fairies
There to sprinkle Fairy dust and cheer
Loneliness is like a path
Without any people to walk upon it
Loneliness is like a butterfly
Flying alone
Sometimes we all tend to get lonely
But we must strive to see
The brighter things in life
Like a butterfly
Dancing with her mate
Like a bird cooing to his lover
Like a path with people to walk upon it
Like a waterfall gushing and flowing
Happily singing to the Creator
Like a Fairy
Dancing in a Fairy ring with all her friends
Like a palm tree growing
Surrounded by other palm trees
Like a flower waltzing with other flowers

Gazing at the sky
The little twinkling
Jewels in the sky
I'm lost in thought
While watching the cars
Rushing to and from
On the invisible highway
I'm lost in thought
While watching the silent
Black velvety sky
Fear of tomorrow
Holds me in it's grasp
Because I know
What tomorrow means
It means some pain
It means some tears
Unless I'm really brave
It means some crying
And maybe even some sighing
I'm dreading tomorrow
While lost in thought
Looking towards the black sky
Out of my window
Quietly watching the darkness
And secretly fearing tomorrow

*~Marian~
Just a poem inspired by a few minutes spent
watching the sky and road from my window!!! (: ~~~<3
And yes, I fear tomorrow, as I have an appointment tomorrow
for my ingrown toenail!!! ~~~~~<3
A nurse told me that the podiatrist will probably
just permanently remove the corners of my toenail,
but she said it will still be painful even after a few days,
though not quite as painful as last time when the doctor
removed my whole nail...which grew back slowly!!!! :) ~~~~~<3
So yes, I am rather frightened of what will happen tomorrow!!!! :) ~~~<3
So, my HP friends, here's the inspiration!!! (: ~~~<3
Hope you enjoy it!!! (: ~~~~~~<3

Lots of roses for her Birthday party
As it was held in the garden outside
Look at the pretty rose stationery
That was used for her invitations wide
Oh look how pretty is her rose party
With lots of pretty roses here and there
Oh look at our Birthday Girl of beauty
Oh let us offer her a pretty chair
Oh look at the waltzing red roses sweet
In the garden of unending love
Oh listen to the patter of our Girl's feet
As Tasha waltzes in the sky above
Oh let me dance with you, my dear Tasha

The lotus floating on the cool mountain stream,
A swirl of light pink,
The water around it seemed to gleam;
A lotus that floats and never sinks!

The other flowers around you aren't quite so pretty,
You're so pretty and pure,
No other flower I admire so much you're the only I see;
Left with me, you pretty dear of that I am sure!

You're quite my treasure,
I love to see you floating on your creek,
Seeing you is my delightful pleasure;
Your beauty I admire and seek.

You float onward on your stream,
And I lay here in my bed asleep,
I quickly awaken from my dream;
I feel so sad that this wasn't real I feel like I could weep.

Marian Jan 2013
Love is like a tapestry bright,
A tiny spark to brighten the night,
Love shall forever glow;
Just like the sun sparkles upon snow.

Love is like a creek,
So beautiful and yet so meek,
Love is like a child;
So tender and so mild.

Love is as endless as the rolling sea,
Love is a painting in the sky,
Even though love we cannot see;
It can be seen in little deeds of kindness for love is a bond. . .  One big tie.

Love is a pathway in the dark,
Guiding the traveler to his home,
Alone in the dark;
His journey's almost done.
He has reached the end,
Comforted knowing that you're his friend,
Filling his days with joy and peace;
Flying in Freedom's release!

The paint swirls as the artist paints
A picture of majestic landscape
Such beauty never seen
Except in one's mind's eye
Such creativity and beauty
Mingles with nostalgia
That is this artist's paint
And his palette is
Magic
Pure Magic

Its rushing water

Pure and cold

Reminds me of a song

Played on the pedal harp

Some sweet melody

And I find myself crying

At it's majestic beauty

The ferns are dancing

Right beside the flowing waterfall

And the sun is shining through the trees

In the silent, dreaming forest

All is still and quiet

And the tall pines provide shade for all

I am dreaming, pleasantly dreaming

Of my majestic waterfall

Part 1

I love my Mamma
She is my dear twin sister,
We love each other!

Two little girls
Everyday would play in grass,
Wind blowing their skirts!

Sweet breezes stirring
Would always caress their face,
In the warm sunshine.

Outside in the rain
Raindrops would kiss their fair cheeks,
Two sweet twin sisters.

With blackest moss the flower-plots
         Were thickly crusted, one and all:
The rusted nails fell from the knots
         That held the pear to the gable-wall.
The broken sheds look'd sad and strange:
         Unlifted was the clinking latch;
         Weeded and worn the ancient thatch
Upon the lonely moated grange.
                She only said, "My life is dreary,
                        He cometh not," she said;
                She said, "I am aweary, aweary,
                        I would that I were dead!"

Her tears fell with the dews at even;
         Her tears fell ere the dews were dried;
She could not look on the sweet heaven,
         Either at morn or eventide.
After the flitting of the bats,
         When thickest dark did trance the sky,
         She drew her casement-curtain by,
And glanced athwart the glooming flats.
                She only said, "The night is dreary,
                        He cometh not," she said;
                She said, "I am aweary, aweary,
                        I would that I were dead!"

Upon the middle of the night,
         Waking she heard the night-fowl crow:
The **** sung out an hour ere light:
         From the dark fen the oxen's low
Came to her: without hope of change,
         In sleep she seem'd to walk forlorn,
         Till cold winds woke the gray-eyed morn
About the lonely moated grange.
                She only said, "The day is dreary,
                        He cometh not," she said;
                She said, "I am aweary, aweary,
                        I would that I were dead!"

About a stone-cast from the wall
         A sluice with blacken'd waters slept,
And o'er it many, round and small,
         The cluster'd marish-mosses crept.
Hard by a poplar shook alway,
         All silver-green with gnarled bark:
         For leagues no other tree did mark
The level waste, the rounding gray.
                She only said, "My life is dreary,
                        He cometh not," she said;
                She said "I am aweary, aweary
                        I would that I were dead!"

And ever when the moon was low,
         And the shrill winds were up and away,
In the white curtain, to and fro,
         She saw the gusty shadow sway.
But when the moon was very low
         And wild winds bound within their cell,
         The shadow of the poplar fell
Upon her bed, across her brow.
                She only said, "The night is dreary,
                        He cometh not," she said;
              She said "I am aweary, aweary,
                            I would that I were dead!"

All day within the dreamy house,
         The doors upon their hinges creak'd;
The blue fly sung in the pane; the mouse
         Behind the mouldering wainscot shriek'd,
Or from the crevice peer'd about.
         Old faces glimmer'd thro' the doors
         Old footsteps trod the upper floors,
Old voices called her from without.
                She only said, "My life is dreary,
                        He cometh not," she said;
                She said, "I am aweary, aweary,
                        I would that I were dead!"

The sparrow's chirrup on the roof,
         The slow clock ticking, and the sound
Which to the wooing wind aloof
         The poplar made, did all confound
Her sense; but most she loathed the hour
         When the thick-moted sunbeam lay
         Athwart the chambers, and the day
Was sloping toward his western bower.
                Then said she, "I am very dreary,
                        He will not come," she said;
                She wept, "I am aweary, aweary,
                        Oh God, that I were dead!"

                            *Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Marian Jun 2013
With one black shadow at its feet,
         The house thro' all the level shines,
Close-latticed to the brooding heat,
         And silent in its dusty vines:
A faint-blue ridge upon the right,
         An empty river-bed before,
         And shallows on a distant shore,
In glaring sand and inlets bright.
                But "Aye Mary," made she moan,
                        And "Aye Mary," night and morn,
                And "Ah," she sang, "to be all alone,
                        To live forgotten, and love forlorn."

She, as her carol sadder grew,
         From brow and ***** slowly down
Thro' rosy taper fingers drew
         Her streaming curls of deepest brown
To left and right, and made appear,
         Still-lighted in a secret shrine,
         Her melancholy eyes divine,
The home of woe without a tear.
                And "Aye Mary," was her moan,
                        "Madonna, sad is night and morn;"
                And "Ah," she sang, "to be all alone,
                        To live forgotten, and love forlorn."

Till all the crimson changed, and past
         Into deep orange o'er the sea,
Low on her knees herself she cast,
         Before Our Lady murmur'd she:
Complaining, "Mother, give me grace
         To help me of my weary load."
         And on the liquid mirror glow'd
The clear perfection of her face.
                "Is this the form," she made her moan,
                        "That won his praises night and morn?"
                And "Ah," she said, "but I wake alone,
                        I sleep forgotten, I wake forlorn."

Nor bird would sing, nor lamb would bleat,
         Nor any cloud would cross the vault,
But day increased from heat to heat,
         On stony drought and steaming salt;
Till now at noon she slept again,
         And seem'd knee-deep in mountain grass,
         And heard her native breezes pass,
And runlets babbling down the glen.
                She breathed in sleep a lower moan,
                        And murmuring, as at night and morn
                She thought, "My spirit is here alone,
                        Walks forgotten, and is forlorn."

Dreaming, she knew it was a dream:
         She felt he was and was not there.
She woke: the babble of the stream
         Fell, and, without, the steady glare
Shrank one sick willow sere and small.
         The river-bed was dusty-white;
         And all the furnace of the light
Struck up against the blinding wall.
                She whisper'd, with a stifled moan
                        More inward than at night or morn,
                "Sweet Mother, let me not here alone
                           Live forgotten and die forlorn."

And, rising, from her ***** drew
         Old letters, breathing of her worth,
For "Love", they said, "must needs be true,
         To what is loveliest upon earth."
An image seem'd to pass the door,
         To look at her with slight, and say,
         "But now thy beauty flows away,
So be alone for evermore."
                "O cruel heart," she changed her tone,
                        "And cruel love, whose end is scorn,
                Is this the end to be left alone,
                        To live forgotten, and die forlorn?"

But sometimes in the falling day
         An image seem'd to pass the door,
To look into her eyes and say,
         "But thou shalt be alone no more."
And flaming downward over all
         From heat to heat the day decreased,
         And slowly rounded to the east
The one black shadow from the wall.
                "The day to night," she made her moan,
                        "The day to night, the night to morn,
                And day and night I am left alone
                        To live forgotten, and love forlorn."

At eve a dry cicala sung,
         There came a sound as of the sea;
Backward the lattice-blind she flung,
         And lean'd upon the balcony.
There all in spaces rosy-bright
         Large Hesper glitter'd on her tears,
         And deepening thro' the silent spheres
Heaven over Heaven rose the night.
                And weeping then she made her moan,
                        "The night comes on that knows not morn,
                When I shall cease to be all alone,
                        To live forgotten, and love forlorn."

                                    *Alfred Lord Tennyson

Marian Apr 2013
And it came to pass, when
Jesus had made an end of
commanding his twelve disciples,
he departed thence to teach and
to preach in their cities.
2 Now when John had heard
in the prison the works of Christ,
he sent two of his disciples.
3 And said unto him, Art thou
he that should come, or do we
look for another?
4 Jesus answered and said
unto them, Go and shew John
again those things which ye do
hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight,
and the lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, and the deaf hear, the
dead are raised up, and the poor
have the gospel preached to them.
6 And blessed is he, whosoever
shall not be offended in me.
7 And as they departed, Jesus
began to say unto the multitudes
concerning John, What went ye
out in the wilderness to see? A
reed shaken with the wind?
8 But what went ye out for to
see? A man clothed in soft
raiment? behold, they that wear soft
clothing are in kings' houses.
9 But what went ye out for to
see? A prophet? yea, I say unto
you, and more than a prophet.
10 For this is he, of whom it is
written, Behold, I sent my
messenger before thy face, which
shall prepare thy way before thee.
11 Verily I say unto you, Among
them that are born of women
there hath not risen a greater than
John the Baptist: notwithstanding
he that is least in the kingdom of
heaven is greater than he.
12 And from the days of John
the Baptist until now the kingdom
of heaven suffereth violence, and
the violent shall take it by force.
13 For all the prophets and the
law prophesied until John.
14 And if ye will receive it, this
is E-li'-as, which was for to come.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let
him hear.
16 But whereunto shall I liken
this generation? It is like unto
children sitting in the markets,
and calling unto their fellows.
17 And saying, We have piped
unto you, and ye have not danced;
we have mourned unto you, and
ye have not lamented.
18 For John came neither eating
nor drinking, and they say, He
hath a devil.
19 The Son of man came eating
and drinking, and they say,
Behold a man gluttonous, and a
winebibber, a friend of publicans
and sinners. But wisdom is
justified of her children.
20 Then began he to upbraid
the cities wherein most of his
mighty works were done, because
they repented not:
21 Woe unto thee, Cho-ra'-zin!
woe unto thee, Beth-sa'-i-da! for if
the mighty works, which were
done in you, had been done in
Tyre and Si'-don, they would have
repented long ago in sackcloth
and ashes.
22 But I say unto you, it shall
be more tolerable for Tyre and
Si'-don at the day of judgement, than
for you.
23 And thou, Ca-per'-na-um,
which art exalted unto heaven,
shalt be brought down to hell: for
if the mighty works, which have
been done in thee, had been done
in *****, it would have remained
until this day.
24 But I say unto you, That it
shall be more tolerable for the
land of ***** in the day of
judgement, than for thee.
25 At that time Jesus answered
and said, I thank thee, O Father,
Lord of heaven and earth,
because thou hast hid these things
from the wise and prudent, and
hast revealed them unto babes.
26 Even so, Father: for so it
seemed good in thy sight.
27 All things are delivered unto
me of my Father: and no man
knoweth the Son, but the Father;
neither knoweth any man the
Father, save the Son, and he to
whomsoever the Son will reveal
him.
28 Come unto me, all ye that
labour and are heavy laden, and I
will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and
learn of me; for I am meek and
lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my
burden is light.

Part I
Meadows of flowers,
Fields full of golden-brown wheat,
Through the countryside.

Poppies, marigolds,
Daisies and honeysuckles,
Very soft and sweet.

Breezes stirring grass,
Softly they caress my face,
With their gentle hands.

In the cool-sweet day,
I sit until the sun sets,
Until the day ends.

Part 1

The sky is pitch black
Night wears her dress of black
Is very pretty.

Velvet is her dress
With stars like sparkling crystals
She is so pretty.

A faint sunset hangs
In the beautiful black night
How pretty it is!

Sometimes she wears dark
Midnight blue in the night sky
I really love her.

I love seeing her
Every night when I sit
In my chair and look

Look at her Beauty
She is a dear fine lady
She is my dear friend.

Midnight is my friend
One of the closest I have
We get along well.

I danced through her Night
Se watched me all along while
I danced through the Night.

She watched me her black
Eyes full of pretty wonder
I love her so much.

You're my black haired beauty, Miriam
I'm glad you're not out in the cold
Instead you're in my warm house
I'm glad you're here with me
Inside where it's warm
Not in the cold
You're here with
Your Mom,
Dear.

~Marian~
For my cat, Miriam who's in here with her Mamma, Onyx. Onyx's two kittens are here as well. They're called Buttercup and Midnight Beauty. They're all so sweet and beautiful!!!!

I am pretty miserable
My nose is stuffy
My head aches
My throat is sore
I feel hot
At times I feel sick
I am very miserable
And I don't feel well at all

*~Marian~
Just venting!!
But this is true...I think I'm coming down with a bad cold!!
So I don't feel good at all!!
Sorry for complaining but I just needed to write my feelings down!! ~<3

Onyx, dear, I miss you
I miss your loving presence
In this now lonely house
"Did they put you to sleep?
Did someone adopt you and love you?
Are you living up in Heaven with God?
Or are you living happily on earth?
Are you sad or are you glad?"

So many questions and not enough answers
I miss you so much and it hurts
Not seeing you and your offspring anymore
Of all things I could want and wish for
And if I could wish for just one
I wish you and your offspring
Would come back home and
Keep me company, as I get lonely
Without your presence here
"Onyx, dear, please come home"
I scream it through the darkness
Of the stormy night
Lightening flashing before my eyes
Thunder rumbling in the distance between us
And rain pouring through open window
Drenching my face and cheeks with beads of water
"Onyx, dear" I whisper in your furry ear
Did I ever tell you that I loved you?
Did I ever once say that I adored your very presence?
Did I ever say goodbye to you?
I think I was so hurt I couldn't even cry
But I surely feel like crying now
My heart is broken half in two
Onyx, dear without your presence here
I am lonely here without your offspring
And since I have no brothers or sisters
I miss you even more because I loved you
And I still love you even now
My heart yearns to have you back again
Just to see you once more
And to bring you back home to me
To bring you home....forever"

But my wishes are in vain
For I doubt that I'll ever see you again
But even if I could I know
That I wouldn't be able to keep you here always
Because you either have a new owner
Or you're dead
Onyx dear, I miss you and love you

Madison* GRACE

Her Cello sings of beauty and earnest rays surene
Such a lovely Graceful Daffodil sitting atop the smiling Moon
Her beauty winks at the Moon which admires her beautiful face
Which brings such sunrays slanting and dancing through the world
And singing to it at Night and hushes the world to sleep
With her beautiful voice which matches her enchanting face
Everyone stops to smile at my Emerald gem sparkling
All day and all Night long bringing hope and bringing all the other lovely things
Snowflakes lacy and lovely kiss her smiling face. . .No she is the Snow
Which dances gracefully from the grey sky
And waltzing on the pine trees
My oh my such beauty she bears and such lovely Grace
She is the sun and it's rays dancing down from above
Sweetly she fills the world with love
Such gracefulness and peace comes from her
Flows from her like a sparkling creek dazzling my eyes
Shimmers like a lake and dazzling like a river
Like a gazelle she is graceful in every way
She is my old fashioned Victorian Princess
Of The Dew Kissed Hibiscus
And we walk through the Enchanted Hibicus Mountain
Full of peaceful solitude and beauty
Such extreme beauty matches that of my Madi's face
Full of tenderness, kindness, and love
As she flys upon wings of a dove
Bringing peace to all her see her
As she bestows them with gemstone leis
And Moonstone kisses--so enchanting on this
Romantic Night where Jades kiss her own
Emerald face of beauty and care!

*~Marian~

Marian Jun 2013
Soft rays of light
Dance tenderly in my room at Night
Casting shadows on the ground
And on the floor of my bedroom
Late at Night the Fairies dance
In those rays
The caressing breeze
Waltz through the treetops
While streetlights like crystals shine
All Night long
Little owls in the trees
Hoot and call to each other
Crickets, katydids and tree toads
Sing late at Night
In the softly stirring breeze

The moon big and bright,
I love the sweet moon tonight,
I love the full moon.

Marian Sep 2013
There is a deer standing in the moonlight beside a fir tree,
This is a beautiful place to see,
I love this place so;
The beautiful lake and the mountain covered with snow.
The moonlight ripples on the stream,
Everything seems to be a dazzling dream,
Beautiful clouds drift across the night sky;
The moon smiles from way up high.
Tiny breezes blow softly,
The stream flows quietly,
The moonlight ripples on the stream;
And everything is a like a dream.

Probably not one of my best poems!!!
I hope it sounds okay, my friends!! :) ~<3
Marian Dec 2013
Clouds are floating by,
In the beautiful evening sky,
There is a faint sunset in the west;
And seagulls are flying home to rest.
The moon's rays fall gracefully to the ground,
Such beauty doth here abound,
The lighthouse is standing stately on the rocky coast;
I shall always love this place the most.
The waves are crashing in motion,
The moonlight reflects in the ocean,
Three palm trees are dancing on the rocky coast;
This place I love the most.
The full moon is shining from way up high,
It is so beautiful I'm ready to cry,
And as the moonlight hits the shore;
I shall hold this place dear forevermore.
