The sun is setting in the pretty west
The colours reflect in the mountain stream
All the birds fly homeward to their warm nest
And I go homeward so I too can dream.
The katydids are calling from green grass
Mingles with the sound of the waterfall
Reminds me of golden days that have passed
I hear the beautiful wood thrush's call.
The lilacs fill my bedroom with perfume
Her petals were made by gifted fairies
I put her in a vase so she can bloom
All through my room her perfume carries.
God make my life to brighten other's more
I hear the sweet wood thrush's call no more.

They live near a creek,
Their beauty is a treasure to seek!
Make some fairy friends for they're the best,
They come into your room at night and give you rest.

They sew seams,
The magical seams of your dreams!
They take you to a far away land,
Where the sky is royal blue and beige is the sand.

They will take you to lands far away,
They will show you the sun's ray!
They will show you how to fly,
Up near clouds in the sky so high!

They will help give you wings,
And a beautiful voice that forever sings,
They will sit you on a mushroom;
And show you how to weave beautiful fairy clothes on the magical loom!

They will show you how to dance on the moon and show you how to dance inside the moon's rays,
They will show you how to end the magical days,
The best days of your life;
And they will take you where there is no strife!

Where no one fusses or gets angry,
They will show you how your soul, life, actions, and temper should be,
They will show you how to be sunshine in other people's life;
Instead of making strife.

They will help you love forever,
They won't say a mean word. . . . never,
They will show you what you need to do;

Cold, bitter breezes sting my face
The moon looks blankly from up above

Wolves howl from far away
In the unattainable distance
The lullaby of the nearby creek

We were lying on the ground
Listening to the sound of driftwood
Cascading in the turquoise river
Taking in the beauty of the stars
While an orchestra of whippoorwills
And katydids sung the birds to sleep
We listened as the owls hooted in the darkness
And tree frogs warned us that spring is here
The beauty of that spring night
The softness of that tender grass
Like a pillow against my head
The fragrance of dewy lavender
Still lingers with me in my mind
Creating such a pleasant scene
As soothing as music to the soul

We'll go to the meadows, where the cowslips do grow,
And buttercups, looking as yellow as gold;
And daisies and violets begining to blow;
For it is a most beautiful sight to behold.

The little bee humming about them is seen,
The butterfly merrily dances along;
The grasshopper chirps in the hedges so green,
And the linnet is singing his liveliest song.

The birds and the insects are happy and gay,
The beasts of the field they are glad and rejoice,
And we will be thankful to God every day,
And praise His great name in a loftier voice.

He made the green meadows, He planted the flowers.
He sent His bright sun in the heavens to blaze;
He created these wonderful bodies of ours,
And as long as we live we will sing of His praise.

You were a stray
now you are a housecat with your two children
I remember how yesterday me and my Mamma got you and your two children in the house and closed the door
I remember sitting on my chair behind the door while my Mamma lured you and your children in with tuna on a plate and milk in a bowl I was hoping. . . .waiting. . . . .praying that you and your two children would come in and you did
"Now" said my Mamma which meant to close the door and I did
how scared they were at first for they were not used to their new surroundings but then they calmed down
after that four of our other cats were taken away which made me weep on the inside and cry on the outside my heart still bleeds from this wound and it is hard to feel happy anymore all I feel like doing is crying
and then I think of Onyx Stray and her two children and her older daughter Miriam and I feel a little ease of pain in feeling happy that they're no longer out in the cold
but I still feel sad in thinking about how Onyx's older son, Cookie (who was from the same litter of kitty children as Miriam)
I think of how he was scared of being in that carrier and how he hollered until  he calmed down and of how the papers were signed so that they could be adopted by somebody else who hopefully would treat them with kindness
I remember how my Mamma wanted to keep Harold (formerly our ******* cat) and how I wrongly decided that was the one she wanted to give away we cried on each other's shoulders and I asked her to forgive me for wrongly deciding by accident that was who she wanted to give away to the Humane Society
tears trickle down my cheeks and my heart pains me even now while I write this poem and I think of how we gave them away

You watched your best friend suffer,
You took it worse than us- a lot more tougher,
Please for our sake hold on tighter;
See things a lot more brighter.

I understand how you feel bad,
How you feel deppressed not sad,
I miss him too;
He cheered us up when we felt blue.

He played with you and teased you like a brother,
And my Mamma felt like to him she was his Mother,
It makes us feel bad too;
He used to tease us as well as you.

But you must know he went to  God in Heaven,
Even though he has already died October 7,
You watched your best friend suffer;
You took it worse than us a lot more tougher.

It's not the way it used to be,
After him went all of Candy's kittens along with Callie,
I feel scared. . . I don't know and hope no more go next;
It's not like I could shrug it off like a piece of paper with no text.

I don't know what to do,
He cheered us up when we felt blue,
Now we feel sad whenever we think of it;
The event keeps playing in our mind ****** by ****** bit by bit.

He used to in his chair sit,
Now no one in it sits,
It is a sad reminder of him;
We think of these things on whims.

But for our sake don't feel sad,
He'd want you to feel happy not sad,
You watched your best friend suffer;
You took it worse than us- a lot more tougher.
