I sit, perched upon this star -
Watching the world change; evolve,
Sculpted in time, as if by the hands of Michelangelo,
Morphing this vacant, plain stone - into a beautifully crafted masterpiece.

I remember the day I met you.
You looked gorgeous in that black, long dress.
Your short, brown hair dancing with the wind.
Your white, hypnotic smile paralyzing me.

To be honest, I had met you before, in photographs.
I was under your spell since then,
but that night turned my fantasy into reality.

So we talked, we drank, we danced.
I couldn't get my eyes off of you.

We met again a couple days after that.
I waited for you.
And waited.
And waited.
I was only waiting for you.

The sand, the ocean, the bright, blue sky.
They were all there to whitness my heart racing
every time I looked at you.

So I build up some courage, and go for it.
I ask you on a date.
Nothing too fancy. Just a movie with me.
"Yes."

Movie was awful, but I didn't care.
I had spent that time with you.
What more could I ask for?
Sadly, time to go home came too soon.

You were picked up, and offered to drop me off at my place.
I kissed you, in the cheek.
You didn't complain.
I smiled beneath a smile.

Once I said goodbye, and crossed the door I jumped,
I screamed,
I almost even cry of the joy.
I couldn't have been happier.
I couldn't feel any better.

I remember how much in love I was with you.
Do you?
Remembering one of the best days of my life. Even though it didn't work out in the future, I was happy for that moment :)

John
So I start my shift
At 10 AM
Hours upon hours
Of nonstop movement
And running down to the basement
Bringing up boxes
Of candy
And cups
And popcorn bags

Constant flows
Of people
Customers
"guests"
So we have to call them
"You don't call over the next CUSTOMER
To your register
You call over the next GUEST."
So says my manager
OK, *****
"Next guest, please,"
I utter with a smile

Can't wait to leave
It's around 5:30 PM now
A solid
7 1/2 hours
Through
My 8 hour
Shift
I'm helping my manager
Satisfy guests
Not customers
Filling bags
When they say popcorn
And filling cups
When they say soda
"I'll just have some nachos,"
A man says
His wife stands next to him
She smiles at me
I smile back
He looks at me then
"And John, too,"
He says
"John looks like a nice kid."
I can't help but beam
Some type of dumb grin
I look down at my nametag
Adjust it a bit
The next guest steps up
And then I remember
How much
I just want to leave already
True story.

Let be the fringes of past,
for with all your hands
you cannot reweave
the rug soon to be
under our feet.

Step lightly,
there are beings here
and they have been here all along,
through our noises and *******,
and they do not celebrate
nor recoil,
but we must give them the space
they do not ask for besides.

I am in love with wear,
and white made of color,
and the black made of light.
The where to which we are going.

No amount of sowing can plant the seed
that is to be
these that will flower,
and still there is power there
in the empty air,
and it is shared.

Care not for my death,
for it already has your love.
Care not for sadness,
it is already sated.

I've waited for a sign from God
and here i find that his gift
is not to be had
but still is to be given.

my rhyme schemes
are often best
to be replaced
because you
can't hear me croon
in the afternoon
as I type out my feelings
alone in my room.
I'm thinking of trying to get a few people together to share poetry through youtube videos.
Help all of each other critique
for any of us who wish to speak,
                                            be heard,
                                            help learn.
