you can file a nail or point it straight
when making your point in a debate
and head to the door when all goes wrong
sit tight, get up stay impenetrably strong

****** and dawdle and stay out of trouble
pass your rival and do it on the double
regress, remain somber and sated
throw your hands high and stay elated

function as a part, a piece or a tool
add to the formula and make a new rule
face the facts with convincing nod
do the best you can even if it is slipshod

feast on memories and plan your path
sit by idly and inherit one's wrath
look sternly as you play your hand pat
spring up instantly when thrown to the mat

call to order for a meeting's start
work firmly together or drift apart
take on your destiny and tough it out
sit idly by growing weary and stout

Paul McCartney, John Paul Jones, Pope Paul VI, Ru Paul and
Paula Jones... Beethoven and Presley, Euripides, Little Ricard, Oscar Wilde, Marie Currie and Martha Washington, The Rolling Stones,
Boy George, Helen of Troy and Clarke Gable, T. S. Elliot and
Eliot Gould, Melville, Shubert and Marilyn Monroe....

If all this humanity were but grains of sand
all who have came and all who will come
would neatly fit in a hundred gallon drum

a pittance of the vastness and dark realms
the stars that light, the bit we can see
of the unimagined depth of our the galaxies

a twig in the veld, a bubble in the burst
for we are but a dot in time and blink of rays
a mere spark that ignites the eternal blaze

organize, politicize, economize, engage and rage
we think, we plan, take turns at splendor
when stars fade and breath falters... we quietly surrender

Striped
All those little lies we tell,
Gather, bunch and cluster.
They weave their way inside our heads
We lose sense of our truth.

It takes just one lie to set it off
It then begins to spiral.
One white, one white.
But nothing pure at all.

The guilt we feel diminished
With each tall tail.
All we are left with is black and grey.
A void of emptiness and regret.
A life lived wrong.

I call her grace.
I call her elegant.
I call her sophisticated.
More than anything I call her, My Lady.
She aware, she's my woman.

I call her smart.
Very educated.
Even if she didn't have a degree.
She be brilliant.

I call her fantastic.
To me personally, she's my summit.
I call her amazing.
I call her picturesque.
Yes, she's striking.
To me very inviting.
But more than anything, I call her my lover.

I call her attractive.
I call her beautiful or pretty.
Even when she call me a little silly.
I accept that.
For I am, when I'm around her.
More than anything, I call her wonderful.

These are more than words to me.
