for where wet lips touch
you will dissolve

Firewalkers

Humans being one hundred strong
Raised the energy, an affirming throng
That night we agreed to bend the laws
next day we'd return to effect from cause
Yet I forget this lesson learned
On burning coals, no one was burned.
Despondency is truly tragic
We live and breathe and walk in magic.

Your Mother Wore Combat Boots

No slur, hear the pride
I was Mother Warrior
fighting for my charge, my child.
If I had not so much to learn,
the path would have been other
than playground of victory and loss.
Adult now, evolving still
aging scars and complex psyche
stories of bright riches savored
but do those boots still have a use ?

Pig on the Farm

Gathering the weekly harvest
on the way to pick the flowers
I passed a gathering of pigs
comfy in their summer digs
under shelter from the sun
My focus riveted on one
glistening and pink his snout
teased water from a copper spout
I stood in awe, I stayed in wonder
Vision magnified
Archetype of face and need
Achievement Dignified
