Joining up
God only knows
and that one ain't telling
so
we squaddies get fell in
salute the guard
and cry all night
because life's so hard.

The thing is though
we all know that but we bat on
and finish the innings
winning's neither here nor there
it's
about where we are and being
happy with what we've got,

Let gods keep their secrets
we're better off not knowing.

Move over Felix
That end of year tiredness is creeping up on me

( sing the first line, you know that you know the tune )

and suddenly Sylvester and Tweety Pie come to mind,
Gwanny's lined the baking tray with aluminium foil
potato's in the pan and they're coming to the boil
there are carrots and lots of Broccoli
( not for me, they give me wind )

and the turkey comes out
( no, not that out )
of the oven
and Tweety says,
hey please wait for me
'cause he's polite you see

where's the gravy gone?
said Sylvester the unlucky Tom
oh
none for you you nawty cat
you ain't having none of that.

funny init
this was going to be a serious piece
about something
and it turned into a frivolous piece
about something else

Once upon a crime.
On the 5th day when it was raining, he decided to put off going to work and anyway, he had to think of how to lay out the garden.
Secondly what name could he give it that would live on?
So he had a *** or two ( Katie's Mountain Dew) wasn't available and sat back.

Later
when he realised that someone was needed to water the plants he created Madam but being slightly drunk he'd created an Adam instead, a thought then occurred, I'd better give him a bird (it seems he'd jumped ahead to the sixties ) and as it was evening time he created and called her Eve,

so that's how it began, a man a woman and a garden which needed seeding,
the first thing for Adam was to build a den for when Eve got riled up and kicked him out of the marital bed and when that happened he'd have somewhere to go,

on the fifth day, the fifth letter of the alphabet was created,
E, and as Adam was in his den the creator decided to call the garden Eden,

warped sense of humour if you ask me.

Happy 10th to:
jacks hammer

There's a dinosaur
outside my door
making such a row
I think it's called an excavator,
I call it a selfish cow.

What a noise
can hardly sleep
dig, dig, dig and
beep, beep. beep
I think that when it's in reverse
it's filling in the holes it digs
and that is even worse.

What a waste of bleedin' time
diggin' holes outside of mine
fillin' in with concrete mix
building homes with
stickle brix

I wish the thing would go away
I need to sleep a bit today.

In ten million years from now
that ****** rotten
selfish cow
will be extinct and
so will I.
Everything is crammed into a second, and for a second, there's a thought that you may have passed into the beyond—a fleeting thought that evaporates as you open your eyes, and... bingo, it's the world again. What a surprise.

Dreams are an odd thing
some bring you happiness and joy
then
oh boy
some are full of mystery,
esoteric, exotic,

you
can't pick what you dream about.
You think that you're viewing
picture postcard towns,
but these are the hard towns
the men dyed in the wool towns
where no one ever gets full towns
poor places
children with gaunt faces
looking like old folk
and
towered over by the spires
of a higher power
and what good did that ever do?

gave them smallpox,
rickets and the flu
and what did they do?

they fukin prayed
thinking that'd save them
from Eliot's footman.

they tore them down
the old towns and
got shot of them,
good riddance,

but they're thinking up
new tortures,
be careful out there.

Monday and morning too.
In the background
a siren
or
a car alarm
hard to tell with all that noise
but one or both are loud enough
to wake the dead,

I was awake ages ago
pains and such you know
too many late nights and
street fights
they all take a toll
but
I'm still rolling

wish the ache would stop
wish that noise would stop,

She says, darling
it's all in your head
and that would wake the dead.

Cynics and Cyanide.
Already and they're calling for another General Election, I have to ask, who in their right mind could possibly not think that the next shower to get into Westminster won't sink the already sinking ship?

I've been on this planet for long enough not to get excited by this kind of stuff, so my blood's not boiling it's barely lukewarm and basking in the lunacy of British Politics.

In other news
Someone posted a picture of their dinner which looked really nice.

What really surprises me, though, is that there is no Homeless Index on the stock market. These city boys can make money out of anything, and I feel quite sure that they're missing a trick here.

Another piece of the past.
They never sang Dixie at the Dixieland Showbar in the late sixties or not as I recall, but they did have a glitterball
and I should have gone to School the next morning but was asleep on the beach at Morecambe, Mam never knew about that, but she knew a lot of things and my ears still ring from the boxing she gave them.

And the Casino Club at Blackpool, I can't remember the turn that was on but he was a singer and the beer was cheaper than at the Nags Head which was a win for me.

Not a wasted childhood but a bit of a wild one
and all that's gone now
somehow I got old.
