If the ground shook then it was a surprise
They did not see it coming
No approach
Time not counting
Shock to the system
Probably a blessing
No drawn out ordeal
That choice of your last meal
No pain or pills to suppress how you feel
A quick strike with no sobbing goodbyes
Im sorry we never had that final hug
The Day After...I Died

You can't run from your past
Knowing what done was wrong
Looking over your shoulder every time
Always wondering, but just for how long
Sometimes in life we dig our own grave
With words, with action, with how we behave
So watch what you say, as sometimes we ponder
When those past discrepancies
Could be put to sleep, and make us feel stronger

Monotony is a process on repeat
You can change it
But why break this easy cycle
Its nice
You like it
If it's not broke
This is the easy life!
A record on loop
These minutes turn into tracks
You know you've got your back
But sometimes a light shines into another world
Dare I take that step into indifference
Or sail my good ship noble
On forgiven waters where all is stable...

At what point do we lose our shimmer
The glow, the laughs,
the getting to know you glimmer
Those lights on full beam,
onto an energy saving dimmer
We plod on with thoughts,
When one may become that sinner
Bright lights, colours that catch the eye
We never thought that one day we may say goodbye
Those colours fade from pink into a charcoal
When we know we've lost it all,
out fades that precious sparkle

I drink tea, like its going out of fashion
Nothing dietary,
must keep up my hydration
Two thousand litres a day
Or a UTI is the price we pay
Even our parents laughed,
as it's something they never taught you
You'll be fine with milk and Capri-Sun,
As they sat back supping their home brew
Now we keep on trend,
Not to be talk of the town
Ten thousand steps at best
Just to achieve that invisible, personal crown
Have we become so boring,
In achieving life's extremities
As being told by a man we've never met,
these are now life's necessities?

How needy we have become as a race of people.
There's many a good tune that can be played on an old piano
To what depths do we dive,
If not to be labelled pure shallow
Brooding yet endearing,
Her eyes still entrapment at large
Sorry not to have met before
My life now stirring at starts
Do I carry on with lust unjust
Or dampen these forbidden needs
She wants to go out with such fun
******* Catholism and these Rosary Beads

I fear what I might miss
That day
That night
The girl I might have kissed
But a fear I have not encountered should lay easy on my mind
As this is lifes guidance to a time unwanted
A diary page best left unchartered
Words that I now should never have been muttered
An alternative path to where life will guide
As we tip our toes into the changing of the tides.

Life is short.

Please live it.
