I pen these words for my dearest friend Loghain Carvò
whos brilliance and humility deters him from penning brilliance in words

You cannot, no you cannot compete
with the brilliance that is I
for when you're long forgotten
my words will be emblazoned 'cross the sky
Inferior beings all who bandy words with me
for I do pen the perfect verse
to set the whole world free
Artistic talent!!! Yes I was blessed to enter this earth as the best
the world has ever seen
I take up the pen, take yet the brush
create that
of which you peasants
to create can only dream
Perfection born into my soul
Oh, perfection that is I
Lesser mortals gaze upon my great work
Theres none more great than I
Loghain is probably the greatest poet and artist the world has ever seen.  Oh that I could be as great as he

The thing about the life you've had
Is that there's no edit button
So think twice and act once

I heard it on the local news
Two more died young by the railway bridge
Brilliant sunshine and the roads were dry
On the fateful day
When they were destined to die
I never gave it a second thought
After all many die from a heavy foot
Until I had to drive past the place
Where two young lives left in haste
Saw the smashed and battered trees
Bedecked with ribbons and flowers
Moving in the breeze
As though waving a last goodbye
To the kids who in that place did die
They say speed kills. Especially on a bend over a railway track.
Skid marks over 30 meters long and then they met head on and into the trees. This was earlier this week just outside my town

It's simple, write me a poem
A simple poem???ñ
Yes, a simple poem about a leaf
Can you impress with a poem about something so obscure?
I believe you can
Just let your imagination take over
Let inspiration flow
Come on kids impress me
Take that leaf and make it grow
I await with interest to see what comes out of this

OK lads and lassies we're going to take a walk, just 10 short miles
in that forest over there
WHAT!!!! Yes I know its dark and gloomy but then some forests are
but there's nothing there to harm you, nothing there to fear
I see you have the rucksacks I told you all to bring. Right folks
open them up and we'll see whats contained within
Ah theres no surprise at what you've got in yours, a tiny flask a magazine and your lucky rabbits paw.( Obviously it wasnt lucky
for the rabbit)
In yours just a make up bag now that'll really do some good,
at least you'll still look beautiful when your dying in the woods
Right lets take a look at what I've got in mine, a 10 x 8 tarpaulin
and a ball of nylon twine
Ah yes a survival knife the handle holds a flint for striking fire,
and in this bag 3 snares each 18 inches of supple wire
Now this small tin contains my means to stay alive, 2 small containers of lint from in my tumble dryer, perfect tinder for
making fire
This little brass things with holes in the top is my small trangia
cooker
2 ounces of spirit poured in there gives 15 minutes of fire
A picnic blanket aint much use if your stranded in the woods, well this one is because the underside is completely waterproof
This old tin mug has served me many times as a makeshift
cooking ***
A litre bottle of water and it weighs 15 pounds the lot
So heed the lessons carefully,  it might help you to survive
Carry the 15 pounds that I do and you might stay alive
Actually I carry several other bits and pieces as well but it all comes within the 15 weight limit I set myself

Do you believe in fayries and the world of make believe
Of dragons who spout gold dust instead of fire when they sneeze
Of little folk wearing soft green hats with long white beards and such
Well you should believe in all those things because by magic you are touched
That tinkling noise in dead of night that has no earthly cause
That is the magic in the air and that magic is all yours
Believe in witches, black cats, cauldrons on fires bright
Believe in knights of ancient times in armour gleaming white
Think about the moon dust making diamonds in the sky
Think about the magic surrounding you and I
This is a re write bug I got to thinking about how sometimes it's good to escape from harsh reality and to lose yourself in the depths of your own imagination

In the gloomy winter months reading this one always cheers me up so I decided to repost it*

You Should Believe

You should believe in magic and the world of make believe
Of dragons who spout gold dust instead of fire when the sneeze
Of little folk wearing soft green hats with long white beards and such
Well you should believe in all those things because by magic you are touched
That tinkling noise in dead of night that has no earthly cause
That is the magic in the air and that magic is all yours
Believe in witches, black cats, cauldrons on fires bright
Believe in knights from ancient times in armour gleaming bright
Think about the moon dust making diamonds in the sky
Think about the magic surrounding you and I

An old bull and a young bull are should in a field
In a field across the hedge are a herd of shapely young cows
The young bull says
"Look at the backsides on those girls, let's charge over smash down the hedge and do a couple of them"
The wise old boy shakes his head and says
" No son, we'll amble across slowly, push down the hedge and do the lot"
Sometimes experience over youth is the best way to go
