I wait, excited for when I see you again.
touch your fingers
kiss your lips
hear your voice.

But you always wanted more.

Because instead of wanting to see me
you wanted to see how the dress you bought looked on my body,
instead of touching my fingers
you wanted to invade  the parts of my body i regarded sacred,
instead of kissing my lips
you wanted to devour my mouth
and dominate me to show how weak i am,
instead of hearing my voice
you wanted moans and cries of pleasure
screams for the world to hear that I belong to you.

I sit here on the bed.
After your rounds of happiness and my forced labor.
I ask you who was the girl that you were so clearly flirting with last night and you tell me  it was just harmless flirting
and I bite my tongue
because i wanted to scream at you
Is it harmless,
that when you canceled on our date because you said you were sick,
someone told me that they saw you at a club, that you were gripping that girl's waist
and grinding on her like you were her man?
Is it harmless,
that everyday you rub it in my face how immensely inexperienced and timid i am
compared to the other girls you've been with?
Is it harmless,
that you asked me if it's okay if you ***** other girls
and I was taken aback and it was clear that I didn't approve?
You said
"They don't really mean anything, I just need some variety."
I knew right there that even if I didn't allow you, you'd still do it.
And right now
I’m just confused more than ever as I ask you again
What exactly we are and you say
“We're exclusively dating.”
But most of the time it’s more like
exclusively *******
with each other
with other emotions
with our non-existent commitments.
Because after just a mere 5 minutes of you being with me
and I refuse to spread my legs for you,
you have the nerve to lie to my face and look me in the eye and say
"My love for you gets stronger everyday."
And I swoon, being the naive little girl that I am
I am hung up on your words and I say yes when you ask me if we're okay.
But I know that by okay you mean okay with being invaded.
And with every pound, with every ******
The word love is replaced by lust
so now the sentence is
"My lust for you gets stronger everyday
and my love for you decreases the same."

I am so tired and so worn down from the weight of all my insecurities and you come hobbling in with your own bag of insecurities and stick it inside of me which you only do when other girls don't want you to.

Well guess what
For the first time in my life,
I'm
gonna
say
no.
It's my first time to submit a poem here so I really hope you all like it.
Feel free to give me constructive criticism cause I'm really still new to this.

It's your voice ringing sonorously in my mind,
It's your eyes that I see your world from.

I don't actually mind it if I turn blind,
When you're here there's nothing that I fear..

And even while you are gone away from me,
You don't actually go away from my mind...

We always live in the cottage of our dreams,
Not hidden but simply away from their sight..

This dream-home will be a reality one day,
We'll reside in mother nature's cosy lap.

Up over the foothills,
Beneath the mountains,
We live away from civilization..

Singing along the birds,
Ashore the dancing brooks,
We enjoy our simpler lives fully...

After all this time,
I still want you.

I
want
to not
want
you.
Trust me,
I really do.

But I want
to get lost
in those
blue eyes.

And run my hands through that brown hair
that just happens to be the perfect length
for me.

And talk about shows all day,
and maybe all night,
because we would be that couple.

That nerdy awkward couple
that I find so adorable.
That would be too embarrassed to kiss in public,
but everyone could see that what we have is real.

I want that
and I want that
with
you.

I know it's silly-
to hold onto
hope
when nothing could ever
come out of this.

But still,
I want everything that we could be.
It haunts me in the day,
and I'm sure it finds me in the night.

I want you.
Could
you
ever
want
me?

There was a time
when I would have bet my soul
that you wanted me too.
And I am not a betting girl.

But now,
I'm all lost.
Our story fades
in and out,
It's woven throughout time,
like the Doctor and River.
I know you when you don't know me
and vice-versa.
Always opposite.
Always slightly out of step.
No, I doubt our story will end anytime soon.

We will come back to this small town,
that I picture with bars,
and a few simple words
will start it all anew.

Maybe then
I'll have the confidence to ask,
"Did you ever want me,
or was I just wasting
paper?"

she comes home in the middle of the night
and i help her take her shoes off.
she can't walk in heels,
but in the glow of the night life,
she becomes someone else.
for once
in her life
she is
no one
but herself.
and a boy will buy her a drink,
take her home.
but she is so gone,
because even when she is with him,
she is thinking of a lost boy.
she is thinking of a boy in a coffee shop, smoking all his problems away.
a boy with dreams when they met,
that slowly faded into ash and dust,
nothing now but hazy memories.
she can still remember his eyes,
blue and bright.
now,
they are so dark
she can't even tell their color.
they could be black
and she wouldn't
even
know.
every day, they said "get over him"
every day, they said "he is nothing but trouble"
every day, they said "he will only break your heart"
every day, she said "you don't know him like i do"
and then, after, they said "i told you so"
and she said "you don't know him like i did"
so even when he is kissing her shoulder and i am in the other room,
counting the creaks of the bed
she is thinking of the summer they fell in love.
maybe it was his i-don't-give-a-**** attitude,
maybe it was the attraction of rebellion,
but he changed everything
and she swore she'd never been so in love.
and then, when it was over,
when all the caps that they'd thrown into the air were all cleaned up by the janitor,
we went to new york city
and she reinvented herself.
she packed up one box,
and got the hell out of that town.
she hasn't missed one thing that she left behind,
didn't regret one moment,
except for him.
and so, when they were done,
he put his clothes back on
and left her there in her own bed, lonelier than before.
i had to go in and place the advil on the table,
for the hangover the next morning,
that would be there just like the sureness of the sun rising.
and i was the one
who tucked her in at night
while she was passed out,
and mumbling his name.
You’ve paid for somewhere pretty to smoke
yet not realised that your decorated,
thin cold icing and sweet to taste, lips
will be ruined from every second cigarette ****.

But I forgive you
because your eyes are olive,
tried and tested and true.

On that crisp September night
I heard the music play.
I will not hear those notes again
for Sandman’s gone away.

With one out still left in the ninth
Two men approached the mound.
Jeter said “It’s time to go.”
The ballpark roared with sound.

Was there a dry eye in the house
when even Hall of Famers weep?
That night, Mo’s opponents cheered,
for the man who spelled relief..

For when a game was on the line-
Foes threatening to score;
One man, one pitch was all it took
as Rivera barred the door.

On that crisp September night
I heard the music play.
They will not play his song again
for Sandman’s gone away.
A tribute to number 42, Mariano Rivera

Rain

I love the rain
It's so calming
Watching it fall
Watching it pour
I could sit there for hours
Wanting nothing more

I love the rain
It's so peaceful
The sound of the droplets
Hit the pavement
And you watch it
Wash away the dirt

I love the rain
It's so cleansing
All the water comes down
Drowning out the sorrow
Alleviating your tomorrow
Giving you hope

I love the rain
It's healing to witness
The way it's free
The way it reveals all honesty
Makes me take a nap
To unwind and unwrap

I love the rain
It reminds me of better times
Of times past
Spent huddled around a fire
During autumn days
Surrounded by family
It makes me think quietly
I reflect and I'm grateful
Suddenly
Life doesn't seem that painful
