You take me.
The shattered pieces on the floor,
broken.
Ground down fine
like powder.
You take me,
honey eyes that shine;
Closed tight
as soft lips part.
You take me,
early morning heavy lids.
Untamed mane of bed hair.
You take me
late-night groggy, sleepy,
excited, wild.
You take me
standing in the mirror
judging the girl looking back
until salty rivers flow.
You take me as I am:
flaws, perfections,
curves, edges.
You take me
and hold me
through everything.
You love me,
and I take you.
For MMP --- Thank you, I love you.

Murder, Murder

Rip, scream
Tear at my skin

Bathing
In the blood
Of my friends

Open my eyes
Take it all in

The sight
Of the bodies
All mutilated

I...me?
Was it me?

The one
Who caused it
All these fatalities?

No, not me
The Ambien

I was out
Asleep on it
My medication

So, I'm ok
Innocent?

But look
I'm drenched
In their blood

I'm a mess
A beast at best

I did it
Slit their throats
And killed them all

For watching over me as the poet in me changed-

From deciding the subject of my next one
A week in advance,
And spending the next few days,
Creating the mood, the right ambience

To having words ready
At the tip of my fingers
To my life revolving around writing,
And not the reverse

From choosing the correct length
The right vocabulary, rushing through
A dictionary for just that word I needed

To being effortlessly able
To aimlessly babble
And in the end, smiling at how poetic
Were the verses I'd created

From wondering who would ever read me?

To feeling a warm, fuzzy glow,
Seeing the lit up yellow lightning
Giving the happy news that my ideas
Someone, somewhere, was absorbing

From having that secret desire of
The Dream Guy stumbling upon this page
Reading me in and out, and
Falling in love with my words before
He began to love me...

To... Oh! Who am I kidding
I still have faith in that fantasy!

To a million more poems,
To many more hearts to enthrall,
Cheers to poetry,
Cheers to y'all!

Defeat,
A venomous beast.

Strike!
Bring him to his knees.

Stretch out thy wings.
It is man versus beast.

White radiance,
Black soul gem.
Souls of one million.

Cautious curiosity.
Zealous mortal is thee.

The beast may roar,
Smack it down!

It is a game of dominos,
Between Jack,
And the crown.
Random thought. Comment please!

As the Night is drawn,
In the spectacles of my mind.
I stand alone,
In the shadows of light.

My eyes turn to the moon,
Whose gaze is pallid and ghastly.
Now they shift,
Becoming Scarlet irsises.

I am a beast of the night,
The nocturnal moon is my call.
To summon from sleep,
And all.

Nocturnal forever.
A girl of the night.
I am the one in the shadows.
I fight for that right.
Rawr Night owl!!!
