I took a walk with Misery
we've been walking for a while
sometimes he says I go too slow
but I'll go that extra mile.

We don't say much and that's okay,
I'm not much one for talking
Silence makes good company
though some may find this shocking.

Well Misery's been up and down
these old familiar roads
prefers to walk with strangers now
who'll kick against the goads.

He's seen his share of Trouble
it invites him in for tea;
he walks the sullen pathway home
alongside Sympathy.

They take the train quite often
and meet up at the bars
Self Pity's always waiting
with her bottle, wounds and scars.

They buy a round and toast the clown
whose always got one-liners
to keep the crowd distracted
from the sad-sack whining piners.

Adversity can test your will
and take away your smile
you might meet up with Misery
and settle for a while,

to dwell upon the negative
will limit where you go~
and stuck inside, you'll just abide,
and surely miss the show.

Reflecting on old Misery,
I've often let him lead
through disappointments,
heartache,
and my own uncertain need.

I slow my pace and let him pass,
and turning up the sound
I bid farewell to Misery,
it's time to turn around

Monsters are real, ghost are real too.
      They live inside us,
                And sometimes
They win.

I'm slip'n away again
if there's a window, or a door
n' you just happen to be
that person that wants more...
than, Baby I got news for you
I'm heading for the next state
n' I'm sorry if this came too late...
It was not my intention to hurt you..
I'm like a bird in the sky you can't see
cause' I'm flyn' next to the sun
I like the thrill of feel'n the heat
I'm glad we got a chance to meet ...
here's the deal/I have to keep it real
It's in my nature to fly sky high..
feel the wind blown' in my hair
n' where I land I just don't care..
I know you had a plan..
here's the thing, Baby..
I have to be who I am
n' that's a girl that's on the run...
blowing in the wind
searching for anything that sounds fun
Yeah, I'm slip'n away again..
Yeah, think of me --
when you look into the sun.

Read to me
while I lie here with eyes closed against the sky.
  Read to me with passion
of the smell of lemon
and musk wrapped in silk and satin.

I rest here in your voice and drink
your very words.
Read to me with lilt of breath.
Breathe me to the brink
  of lasting
as I sink into your sighs.

Read to me gently,
  read softly into the night.

Life is like a drive thru at times the message is unclear
The words seems obscure
You often don't get what you ordered in life
There is a lot of chaos and strife
We experience pain that cuts like a knife
We are so hurried and rushed
It makes me wonder why all this fuss
I am trying a new style with this poem
