she deserves the world
on a silver platter with a bottle of wine
all of her flaws are beautiful imperfections for only me to discover
she deserves to be flaunted
like timeless fall and winter trends
she has it all
regardless of her not thinking so
with perfect elasticity
& a cultured mind to be put up against that of any other intellect
I see in her everything I know she will be

unconditional love was something I found from a world away
the feeling of a counterpart within
finding my perfect north
the person I'd been looking for
& learning to open and trust
breaking down all the barriers I had so carefully placed from a life filled with abandonment, she came with black hair and skin as soft as the front side of a blanket
showing me that all the pain that had built up in me over a quarter of a century was worth fighting through
showing me that not everything in this world is dull and dreary
showing me that it is possible to trust another with my insecurities
showing me beauty, in all of its glitter and gold
I vowed to never let this feeling go away
to never let her out of my heart
we said forever, and forever is what I thought
but is forever just a word rather than a period of time spent together?
