song pirates sing of the dawn's dying
she holds the key to our suffering
and turns the lock a little tighter every day
but if we turn our attention inward
she may open it for just a moment
and inside you will see your own reflection
a jewel shining on the surface of emerald waters
your turquoise symmetry refracted perfectly
off the wings of a bird’s tail-feathers

i swam for centuries and landed on your shoreline
the missing continents revealed their bodies
in splinters of humanity i perceive hope that springs eternal
but its plunged back into the sea before it fully surfaces
like old volcanos and rainbows our minds are volatile
and only give forth new ideas occasionally
sand mandalas tall as waterfalls
as golden rainbows pour
from the faucet in the sky
like these mighty images
wisdom bridges the gaps
and fills the holes in our imagination
i can’t wait to get this on the page
written in stone, reflecting thrones
made from the bones of pharaohs
for consciousness narrows
the moment you approach it
lets take a chance and find harmony in our equations
shades of perspiration or passionate vacations
in lands of milk and honey we remain fixated on our screens
as these television dreams exaggerate our neediness
your pleasure had abated so instead you masticated the equator
can equestrian women really be blamed for these strange situations
its simple really if you let yourself adapt to the fluctuations
you can read a good book to change your outlook
or once in a blue moon you could attempt to exercise
your mind through meditation
once in awhile you could even stand up to change the station
if our capacity for feeling is unlimited really
with a bandwidth of infinity
than i wonder if its even necessary
that we keep pretending that our needs are so **** shallow
its not for me to say but it is for you to decide
so do it swift before i cut my losses and run
love never hides but it does need fences to thrive
gardens are like headdresses for the earth
words are our old lovers that have gone silent
and these poems are lords of your undiscovered islands
as ladies of the dawn warm my fingers in their hands
i wonder why we couldn't dance for much longer
concrete goals missed
the point completely
fingers gripped the railing
but somehow we both slipped
you turned around too quickly
and i caught you falling
as you caught me laughing
and then the world caught us kissing
locked in each other’s grip
could we remain motionless
strategically mindless
enjoying the bliss of silence
dancing to the rhythms
of the missing beats of our hearts
what a lonely world
lost art drifting like continents
atlantis buried beneath
concrete towers of arrogant learning
like pools of curdled milk
spilled on the floor of eternity
i am learning slowly
how important it is to keep my head empty
and how to dive real deep
though we'd like to sweep this mess into a hat
the chances of defeat are pretty high
and you won't ever get to see me do that
just because we are innocent
doesn’t mean that we are weak
while some things are not worth speaking of
others remain ineffable
and perhaps you care to show me the difference
as i am an eye-witness to all the lies you’ve spread

bare legged angel **** me swiftly
and i’ll happily spend eternity
lying underneath these sticks and leaves
i see multi-colored petals everywhere
placed as silent offerings at your lotus feet
while others are prone in your presence
to throwing their weight around deferentially
the nourishing sound of your heart beating
is enough to satiate my each and every craving
sentient powers stake their claim
in soil that remains dutiful
despite your shame
have we gone insane
its quite likely
or are we still the same
that remains to be questioned
better to drop this game
and stay focused upon
your vision quest intensely
