See the lonely

See the hungry

See the hurting

See the child

See the father

See the mother

See them struggle

See them cry

Know the reason

Know the answer

Know the one

Know His power

Know he's called us

Know he's righteous

Know the burning

Know his desire

To hold the lonely

To feed the hungry

To comfort the hurting

To love the child

To honor the father

To lift the mother

To stop the struggle

To end the cry

He says to her, "goodnight." ("I never meant to hurt you.")
She walks away from him. ("You never hurt me; you shattered me.")
He begs her, "I hope you sleep well." ("I am sorry. Please let me put you back together.")
She continues to walk. ("I am a sinking ship. I am an earthquake. I am a falcon without a falconer.

I am beyond repair.")

You whispered your secrets
on breezes of starlight
of moonbeam collections
in night sky desire

Those twinkling phrases
beyond the horizon
which once held the sunset
in blistery fire

Beneath every pine tree
found evergreen wishes
with snow dressing branches
long winters to show

And springtime petunias
bloomed fresh for the season
soft feathery visions
you want me to know

That here as we’re lying
this hillside of splendor
while counting the diamonds
a’ shine up above

Each sunrise of morning
a new days beginning
asleep in my arms is
the dawning of love

She reads
                                          And she sleeps
                                                      Way too much
                                                                       It's her coping defence
                                                                               When nothing else will suffice
                                                                        She needs to get away
                                                       Without actually leaving
                                             Because she's too scared
                                   And too tired
                                            To leave her bed
So she cracks open a book
                                                                 To escape somewhere far away
And she'll sob for the characters
                                                                             Whose brokenness resembles hers
                                                                                               And then she'll sleep
                                                                                              And have sweet dreams
Of realities that are not her own
Because pretending is so much easier
                                                 Than facing reality
                             So she'll sleep and dream
And secretly wish she won't wake up
So she can finally escape
