The only poems I’ve ever wanted to read
Were the brief stanzas of our texts.

I crave you
Like the Earth craves the Sun’s warmth.
Without you,
I feel dark, lost and incomplete.

You’re cold
But I want to warm you
Just as you warmed me with your presence
When we talked and shared,
When we loved and all.

I’ve always loved the ocean.
The way it cradles the shore with gentle waves,
Glinting under the pale moonlight.
How it hums a lullaby, steady and soothing,
pulling at my heartstrings with every flow.

The canvas of blue is endless,
Shifting hues on the horizon.
A mirror to the soul, vast and unfathomable.
