Now that I'm within your grasp, you would reach for anything else but me?

Perhaps I'll find my tongue one day,
Soon after I stumble upon stable feet.
Dreaming of colourful winter days
Spent waking you up for tea.
Perhaps I wasn't born with a tongue or feet or even a mind for words.

I fail to write much anymore but I'm hoping that changes soon when everything morphs to sunlight

missing it again,
keeping hoping,
closer to land on,
a place,
but hearing a
beat of hearts,
not even a border
can stop,
the sun sets are not the same,
dream of what
will be one day,
family and friends
will say,
it has been too long,
            not too far away,
but something was missing
while you were away,
the sunrises just don't look right,
pick up the pieces and put
them where they belong,
like they were never gone.

New Year's day chases us towards the dawn.
'Stick around, will ya?'
But I fear the light behind his fresh eyes
is nothing more
than a temporary stain
of January sunshine.
There’s a strong urgency in *******.
The longing for there to be another human body
pressed up against your own, so much so you envision
it vividly in your mind, painting hundreds of
thousands of scenarios until you find one just right
for your hand,

for your body.

It's not about pleasure, but about that momentary loss of place and time,
a further commitment to your imagination but
to your loneliness as well.

With a simple glance at the monster
Icy chills are sent down my spine
And my mind goes back to the eleven-year-old mind I once had
Hurt and confused
By the words that pour out of the monster's mouth
Each one causing a permanent scar on my body
That not even all of the therapists I've been through can fix

The only thing I can't figure out
Is why
Not why it said all of the awful things it did
But why I believed them

I allowed myself to believe anything that came from the monster's mouth
Like a child believes their parents
About Santa Claus
Or the tooth fairy

And just like that child
I grew out of the monster's lies

I have a purpose
I keep trying to tell myself
Now believing a whole new sort of lie
For the monster's lies
are now my truth

there will never be enough time
to have a meaningful conversation
with every person and that
hurts the most on winter mornings
and summer nights when i could
swear the whole world is silent,
overflowing in a pensive state,
wondering if being alone is really
lonelier than being surrounded by
people who will never hear their stories
or recognize their voices
