We biked to the market
For too-much ice cream
And hot afternoons

We drove to a parking lot
For a couple joints of ****
And impossibly late
Evenings

We exchanged
Cheesy compliments
In my mother’s basement
Just before your first kiss
(Our first kiss)

We flattered each other
With beautiful poems
And genuine emotion
Just before
We finally kissed again

We picked flowers
From the garden
By the middle school
Becoming best friends

We picked basil
From the garden
In my back yard
Not knowing
What we were becoming

But regardless
Of whether we never
Get off our bikes
Or go upstairs
Or head back indoors
I’ll be happy
To be with you

The New Kestrel
The veins in your hands,
The strong structure of your body.
Eyes that have haunted my dreams for months.

The same pair of sweatpants every day,
That somehow completes you.
And the random stares that make my stomach drop.

The low voice you use when we are close,
And the shaky whispers when we are alone.

The colors you radiate are brilliant.
And the energy you give sends shivers down my spine.

The smell that lingers  on the clothing you lend me,
And the strength that gives me during the day.

Your strong arms around me when I fall asleep.

Did I ever tell you that I can hear you?
Faintly, but one time I could remember.
No dream, just a voice.

And I tried to say it back,
But my voice caught in my throat.

And it was then that I knew,
We'd be that way forever.
Or at least a very long time.

The bright, squinty eyed, smile when
You're having fun,
Or when a friend says something perverted.
And the laugh that is contagious.

Your annoyance when I wear heels,
And your in insistence that I am indeed a gamer.
Even if it is a joke.
Your ability to stay strong even if life kicks you where it counts.
And your determination to save people,
Help everyone you can,
Before saving yourself.

I could go on for eternity.
But, and I will steal your line,
I need something to write about later, right?

You're the reason
I return to earth
The reason I come home
Because my love

You are my home

You're the reason I write
Fill my papers with ink
The reason I touch pen to parchment
Because my love

You are my muse

You're the reason I dream
Nights filled with you
Wrapped up tight in bed
Because my love

You are my reality

Youre the reason for reasons
Without you there would be none
You make it so easy to forget
Because my love

You are my reason for reasons
The more familiar
The figure,
The easier for me
To sketch
Observing.

pretty pink lips,
eyes so big.
swims in the sea like
a fish.
but which one?

you are free,
with silly stories and
hipbones that soar,
ill never know the mystery of
you.

Let's raise a glass to friends we never made,
Serve up our trust stone cold on a silver plate,
Cut it up and we'll take it like a savage,
You have to act like one if you want to ravage.

Make a toast to the enemies we'll always see,
On the streets, in our dreams, on the TV screen,
Grow prosperous from the thought of destruction,
Use and abuse like it's the way we were meant to function.

Bow your head to another dead hope,
Hanging at the end of a piece of rope,
Watch it fade from this tragic scene,
Of the wrecked up life that was only eighteen.

One minute this girl was all happy and joyful
the next minute, she woke up in a hospital bed
she couldn't recognize anybody in the room
people around her were gasping and crying
as the doctor told them,
"The impact has made her to lose her long-term memory"
poor baby girl, she didn't know what was going on
she was completely clueless.
