Starting Over
elio 6d
Where will I be,
if I am at the mercy of greater powers at work?
Oh how easily I could've been the dead children of the Earth.
Yet, here I am, life in my lungs.
Blessed to perceive the world around me.
Why me? Where am I headed? Where am I going to go?
One can slip into a life of violence, poverty, or servitude.
Aged skin from the relentless sun as they walk the median.
Where am I headed? I ask as my eyes follow the median.
Fear won't answer my questions.
I know that tomorrow I'll wake up
Blessed to perceive the world around me,
air in my lungs.
And one day I will know.

oh your eyes with lust
looking at me as I come
tender and sweet juice

Not Mine to Change
elio Jun 1
Unbeknownst to me,
I was a fool.
Waiting in silence
Counting the beads, counting the time
The air turns cold, turning the leaves.
Blind to your true nature.
The heart looking past your wiles
But the intestines impugned your character.
Questioning for my protection.
Only for you to reveal who you are,
and that isn't for me to change.

Wonderful for Once
elio May 27
Awake in the heat of night
I'm not perfect
I jump the gun
I need my fix.
Sweating, panting, quivering
Eager
To dull my senses
I get excited to be
Just to feel wonderful
Filled with lactonic cravings
I'm not perfect,
and I need my fix.
But I don't want to need you.
Tomorrow I'll open my eyes.

I'm a moth to the flame
Seeking his buttery warmth
Melting honey eyes
Calloused finger tips
Hoping he wouldn't go
At a crossroads
Paths leading North
Mine going East
Glimpsing at an ice wisp
Fleeting yet bright
Then you disappear
And I'm left
In the freezing cold
