Little clouds from heaven fall,
Snow geese land on lake.

For the Sparrows
French press.
Coffee beans.
I just can't get it.
The right balance.
All I want is to do
is to make the perfect brew.
The perfect cup.
Energizing.
Revitalizing.
Satisfying.
Barista style.
If I can't even do that,
If I can't even make
a single decent cup,
what am I doing here...

I just end up with stained porcelain.
I often wonder what the hell am I doing at an art school. It's hard to tell if I actually am enjoying it...

PS. Anyone want to give me some barista tips? -___-

A couple kissing on a moonlit beach,
bathed in the soft dim glow
The smell of the sea and the sound of the waves,
     more romantic than candle light
A soft sweet touch and a gentle embrace
     seal a lasting love
Yet time is short and soon they must part,
     for how long neither knows
Only hope, faith, trust,
can ensure their love will survive
Yet fate is cruel and both are world-wise,
     knowing the odds against them
So savor they will these precious moments,
cast forever in diamond coated memories

hope blossoms once again
in a desert bereft for so long
the ache of dust-filled emptiness
is assuaged by healing rain
a kiss from your lips showers me
the light in your eyes brings life
you tell me time and again
that there can be a future for us
I often struggle with what I lack
incompetent to give what you deserve
you ask nothing, yet wholly trust
when I've given no reason at all
it is exactly this trust which wakes me anew
from a long-lived, lifeless slumber
New growth springs forth as I strive to be
the woman you behold in me

we've seen pain and sorrow beyond compare
yet we've known both bliss and peace
through the long roads ahead I know there'll be more
of beauty mingled with scars
but, truly my love, so long as you're there
I'll take each one in stride
I may not always glow with happiness and hope
but I will certainly give it my all
because to hold you close and walk with you
through all life's mysteries and labyrinths
is all I've dreamed of, all I've wanted
since dreams were mine to conjure
I am with you today, yours tomorrow,
and beside you as long as you'll have me
though distance may separate my hand from yours
my heart will always be yours

Maybe if I had your address,
Or knew what you liked,
I'd send you little things
To let you know it will be alright.

Maybe if we were closer,
Maybe if we had talked more,
I'll drive on over,
And knock on your door.

Maybe if I could,
Maybe if I had,
I'd find any way
To ensure you weren't so sad.

Maybe if I knew what happened,
Maybe if I knew why,
I'd search around until
I found a reason for your rhyme.

Maybe someone does this for you already-
I sure hope that's true.
I sure hope your chin stays up,
Long enough to make it through.

And maybe you're treading a path alone,
With only your demons in tow;
They'll disappear someday,
And in your heart, flowers will grow-

Up through your spine,
Finding a path to your mind
The flowers can spread their beauty
In all the cracks they find.

I hope flowers burst out of your soul,
And someday shine through your eyes,
Because sadness comes and goes my dear,
So please don't let your cries

Be what waters your flowers.
Rather, instead,
Water them with faith in overcoming,
With all of the words I have said.

Water them with your quirks,
Your ambitions, your smile-
Let the flowers take over your body;
I promise it's worth your while.

Someday you'll be a garden,
Colorful and healthy, happy and bright-
You'll be a representation of growth,
My dear, you'll be one hell of a sight.

So maybe if you read this,
Always remember, always know
That flowers grow upon whoever
Kindly reaps what they sow.
Written for a girl who is sad and can't seem to see that she's still lovely. I hope she feels better soon. This is about letting sadness be present only for so long, and then making the decision to let it go and be happy. Because people deserve to be genuinely happy. If I could help I would, but I can't, so I write poems about it instead.

Where the air is clean I can be alone, with you
Stretch my legs out over miles of wild woods
Let my hips sway and my hair fall down my back
Free to be a spirit to the fullest extent of this world
Tree trunk drums beat with a rhythm I learn to follow
Fresh air sweeps over my skin and blows into my lungs
Crisp and clean the highest leaves of the forest ceiling
Untouched by anything but sunlight and floating songs

We took no boat or train, but here we are somehow
For a mermaid to tell you to make a wish on a sea shell,
and throw it into the sea
Leading it down to the ocean floor where it can live forever
Changing green and blue while the sky burns red and orange
So we kiss in front of the sunset
Our face's silhouette large as the burning bulb over the horizon
I would not care if the water washed over my feet
and the rocks came out from beneath me
Everything is perfect here with you.

The city sits above your eyes,
in dark mascara strokes.
Your soft pink lips are chapped and tried
unglossed, and un-baroque.

The flowers of a garden’s growth
are painted on each iris.
The laughter and the sadness, both
are on your cheeks that i kiss.

Your body sparkles, freckles brushed
are baked in your warm skin.
A bellybutton slightly pushed
by God’s last touch, thumb pin.

Until December
Will you remember
Will you remember me
Now September
Still a spark left in me
Stoke that spark
Spark as stark
As cold December
Keep me in your memory
Come new year
Don't know where...
Don't really care
Where I will be
Chasing embers
Once remembered
I'll remember
The spark
That stokes my ember
Come December
