Noggin ferments the senses in mire
Ruby-wrapped in friendship or desire
Nurtures Dutch courage, kisses and amour
Furtive affairs distant, fading more

At the wheel, oh, he’s in control
He’s a mate, a real card, a party soul
His friends ahead had one for the road
They’ll be safe; they walked as told

Windscreen shatters, crimson-smeared
Carved mosaics of friends without tears
Tanked up on noggin and that extra jar
Crimson-wrapped denial in a twisted car

I’m calling your name
searching, crying hopelessly
trying to find you

Hidden by the trees
you are lost in the forest
scared that you were seen

Praying it will stop
the evil which still invades
taunting every day

No escape, can’t run
your mind wishing it were dead
buzzing, buzzing, head

From out of nowhere
running to my open arms
you’re calling my name

Dancing in candlelight,
Silhouettes of burning desire,
Her curves of satin skin
Rising gentle to his touch

In melting caresses escapes,
Her sighs on waves of ecstasy
Passions breathlessly collide
In love’s eternal embrace

How do I imagine it isn’t so?
To quell love, and deny its being:
It’s simpler to sway the impossible,
Than to stop loving you
And what of this love, your heart sings?
Remember!  Fate's sojourn leads
You to mine; and rejoices for you only,
And from my love, you must flee!
There's little comfort to be had
In reckoning broken hearts ─
Let compassion weave her spell;
To sooth these falling tears

I wondered of apple in blossom
In such radiance caressing a breeze
When did it first flourish?
And I kept an admiring eye
Same is true of my love for you
When did it blossom?
I am unable to say

Thoughts cloud your eyes like a raging wind;
A frown like storm clouds colliding with the horizon
It’s a wild touch of love: drowning in a sea of you,
This world in which you alone dwell
But now your season is passing; it’s the final tempest

We lay in an unforgiving bed
But you toss and turn in self-reproach
embracing thoughts on your leaving, to
escape my tears from which I should flee
Like moth to light I’m beguiled by you
Should I fly to another bright smile
when our wishes are just self-denial
steeped in hurt in mirrored roles
