I try not to
I try not to hurt
not to feel
not to love
I try to only be happy
because that's all you want
that's all you want of me
but I can't
I can't be only happy all the time
it's not human
and I'm human
I need to feel
I try not to cry
not to be selfish
not to be vain
but I am anyway
and so are you
and so is everyone else in the world

I will capture what I can of your affection
I embrace your warmth
You are beautiful
I feel my fondness grow to pain
I am scared of you
How much will you hurt me?
I knew a lass I did not know too well,
a church acquaintance not too close a friend,
of which we shared harmonious a spell
on Sundays, this became a steady trend.

One day I passed a knick-knack in a store,
a coffee mug just like a camera lens,
and thought, a fitting gift one slightly poor
could relish on his shutter-bugging friends.

And so I grabbed the knick-knack, paid for it,
on Sunday told the lass of what I'd done,
surprised, she deemed it inappropriate,
rejecting it, of this she would have none!

How good intentions sour so easily,
a new acquaintance quick unfriending me.

i knew a girl, not well, but i
          knew well enough to be
a floating cloud upon the sky
          when need arised to see
if some temptations had the gust
to move her into someone's ******
and as it were i rained into the sea

I want to be
in a flesh warm home
with walls the color
of bone.

One of the homes
where ugly is kept
'neath fresh white faces

and all that lies
'hind lily frames
inevitably erases.
I would liken you
To a night without stars
Were it not for your eyes.
I would liken you
To a sleep without dreams
Were it not for your songs.
Electricity
runs through my body
every time you touch me.
Result of having a test on electricity tomorrow... and some craving too.
Huge boulders, blocks of rocks,
shapes of prehistoric memories,
strewn all along the hillside,
merging with the meditation of green,
arranged in mysterious patterns,
evoke the presence of timelessness.
Like a  hidden message for extraterrestrials,
the rock garden beyond time stands,
against the backdrop of a hill,
an ascetic in its disposition.
A Jain* temple observes complete silence,
on the bank of the vast pool of tranquility.
*An Indian religion, predating Buddhism, prescribing a path of non violence to self realization .Observance of silence and periodic fasting are given much importance, as effective means to control mind.
