I'm still learning
and I'm still trying to
figure out why
I let myself fall so
hard for you.

The worst feeling is lying in bed, awake in the dark,
salting your wounds and remembering scars.
Because in lightness and in darkness you are the words running through my head,
with fragrance and clear nostalgia in the sheets tossed on my bed.
Awake I wish to touch you, the figure always in my dreams,
the darling who has caused my heart to burst at the seams.
The embers glow brightest at night when the moon is high,
and when gentle ocean waves sound, reminding me of your sigh.
First love’s terrible haunting will destroy my mind,
restrained by this most addictive and beautiful bind.
In whispers and in wanting you grabbed my heart to keep,
and now I can’t escape you, not even in my sleep.
I’m knee-deep in a puddle; I’m at the edge of the sky.
If I never get you again, baby, I think I’d like to die.
I've heard my drummers, they call me to the shore
"Your heart wants more they play, your heart wants more."
Across the waters,  look to the star-lite sky
"Your eyes see more they say, your eyes see more."
And cry your heart out girl, and release your emptiness,
Your heart beats out for him, out of your swollen, broken chest
And look into his eyes and follow those butterflies
"Your heart wants more they scream,  your heart wants more."

Four missed calls
From a number unknown.
More anxiety.
Who would need to speak
At this hour?
I won't call back,
Because it could be a ghost
And they could trap me with their voice.

Watch out,
As you fall,
Again & again,
In love with me.

But don't worry,
Totally carefree,
I'm here oh dear,
To hold you in a hug,
As you fall towards me!

On a rainy day,
As I will hug you,
Our lips shall meet,
Under the mango shade,
And your eyes will speak,
With the eyelids covering them.
You gave me the starting words,
I created it a poem.
