What do you tell a demon that is obsessively pursuing the soul of a mere mortal?
The longing for her fragile human body captivates the insanity of his aged existence.
Who would have known this creature of the dark would lust over a lower being that's as pure as fresh snow.
He would travel to the depths of hell to see her smile one last time.
Fight off his army of blood thirsty demons to taste her droplets of blood.
In the tainted eyes of this foolish demon he will forever be trapped in the labyrinth that holds her deluded heart.
Not knowing the truth hidden within her darkness.

The silence is louder than any words that they can yell.

He looks at her, she glances away.

She looks at him, he turns his head.

What are they afraid of?

If she opens her mouth, will he ask her to leave?

If he opens his mouth, will she say she has to go?

What brought them together?

Is it the missing passion that she longs for?

Is it the missing person that he needs?

What happens now?

They put a smile on their face and pretend it was nothing.

That is what happens with the silence between two lovers.

You give me butterflies

I've never understood that phrase.
Butterflies are
majestic
beautiful
colorful floating snow flakes
in the summer breeze.

You don't give me *butterflies
.

My butterflies
aren't light little fingers tickling me.
They are strong hands
wringing my insides
squeezing them out of me
like I'm a tube of tooth paste.

But what comes out is an unruly passion for you.

It seeps through my pores
and comes as zits on my nose,
but they don't bother you.
My passion
trickles
from my eyes
as tears at night
wishing I could be held
in your strong
yet graceful arms.
It arrives in words,
that I eventually stutter out as
"Hi"
when I'm next to you.

I sit on a porch swing at a friend's party one night.

You sit next to me
and smile
so bright in my darkness.
You whisper to me,
your lips wisp against my cheek
like delicate wings
and take my hand.
You pull a pen out of
your khakis pocket
and draw a
small
simple
butterfly.

And as cheesy as it was you whispered to me

"You give me butterflies"
A huge smile came across my face
glowing with yours in the night.
I took the pen in my hand
and drew another
butterfly
but on your palm
and replied,
*"So do you."
This was a poem I wrote really quickly, it was more like an idea that I thought should be more like a poem.

It's a new day.
She's standing by her lighthouse.
Waiting for the day, her ship will arrive.
She had a ship docked her port once.
Oh, the memories they shared.
Oh, the places they traveled.
Oh, the love they had for one another.
But suddenly,
His ship sailed without her.
He docked at a new port,
Leaving her alone at her lighthouse.
She's stuck.
She still thinks of the Captain of the ship.
Wondering if he thinks of her as he sails the seas.
Wondering if they still have a fighting chance against the seas.
She's sees a ship coming closer to her lighthouse!
Could it be the ship that she gave everything for?
The ship that left her at her lighthouse?
The ship that has haunted her dreams?
The ship that broke her in more ways than one?
No, it's not...
It's a new ship that she hasn't seen before.
Who is this Captain?
He's docking at her port and staring at her.
He approaches  her and smiles a friendly smile.
She's hesitant and slowly backs away.
Should she trust this new Captain that has entered her dock?
He could be like the last Captain that left her at the lighthouse.
Or he could be the Captain that takes her on a journey around the world.

They knew they shouldn't be doing this..
He brings his face close to hers so their lips could meet.
There's a chance they're going to be caught..
He grabs her by the waist and gently lays her down.
They're going to end up regretting it..
Their bodies gradually turns into one soul.
Their shallow breaths matching each other.
She lets him inside hoping he'll stay.
Their movements becoming fast paced and in-sync.
They are holding heaven in the palm of their hands.
For that brief moment in time, he is hers and she is his.
Their high comes down and reality knocks on their door.
I knew I would regret it.

Even in the darkest of the night,
I can still remember those lips finding their way towards mine.
We can barely see what's in front of us,
But yet our bodies are gravitating towards each other.
I'll let you guide my body into the night.
The darkness brings us together.
The darkness holds no fear.
The darkness conceals all flaws.
As the sun begins to slowly creep against the horizon,
He quietly leaves the sanctuary of her heart.
As the seconds of the morning sun ticks by,
He gradually becomes nothing but a dream of her imagination.
The light grasps the truth.
The light enhances the shame.
The light shows the scars.
I can still feel your warmth tingling against my skin.
It's time to wake up.

Can I drown in the sweet sorrow of your passion?
Bask in the drips of your essence and savor your liquid ecstasy.
Stare in awe at the contours of your body as it bends to my very will.
Making you feel as real as this fantasy world we have thrusted ourselves into.
Your soft whimpers caresses my ears as our spirits are driven by their own Heaven and Hell.
The rapid movements of your ribcage soothes my ravenous soul as our bodies intertwine with each other.
The aroma of our mixture captivates my subconscience as we're climbing towards your highest peak.
Your petite thighs clenching onto my physique build as the wave of nirvana overpowers your psyche.
She slowly drifts away from our fantasy world, leaving me here to dwell on her forsaken sorrow.
My body yearns to hear your voice in the endless darkness as it awaits for your return.
Can I cross the threshold into your garden of Eden one last time?

last time we spoke in person
you kissed a fogged up bus window
because you were sad.

the day was cold and gray and wet.
we were cold and gray and wet.
the bus had a blowout, there was smoke everywhere,
we pulled over.
everyone freaked out,
but we just sat there.
you were in front of me,
i was behind you,
texting each other, because we couldn't talk in person,
ever.
i had decided i was mad at you.
why was i mad, and not sad?
you had decided to make my mistake
of wanting something you just can't have.
why were you sad, and not mad?

the bus pressed onward on three wheels and a doughnut-
a wheel you want to think is there, but isn't.
and when we made it to the restaurant,
i sat alone,
and you sat alone
with friends you kept from inviting me over,
and you left
and they left
and i left.

the bus doughnutted it's way to some ****** play,
i sat on the far left,
you sat on the far right,
and they left,
and you left,
and i left.

we were waiting on something,
so you typed "hey"
and i typed "what"
and you asked me what i thought
and i said there was only one way it could have been worse.
and you asked what
but i didn't answer.

the bus doughtnutted it's way down the twisting, turning, hateful road that leads to my hometown where i can hardly pass a crack in the pavement without a painful memory, like a ****, sprouting up.

it was cold and gray and wet that day;
the bus window was foggy.
you drew a heart and scribbled initials inside.

I see you
Alone in a crowded room
Speaking about nothing
Going through life lost inside yourself
Thinking that you're invisible
But I see you

I see you
Cigarette in hand for something to do
Working away your time for nothing
Throwing yourself into anything to keep busy
Hiding from the pain you're afraid will lead you to hell
I see you

I see you
Silently crying yourself to sleep
Wondering why it has to be so hard
Wanting nothing more than to be free
Locked behind who you want to be
I  see you

I see you
So good inside, masked by a hardening shell
Heartfelt smile that shines in your eyes
So beautiful a heart that the world seems ugly
Too much disappointment, afraid to let go
I see you

I see you
Pain, excruciating, nothing to fill the gaping wounds
Liquid poured right through your soul
Ashamed of the past, afraid there's no future
One day at a time, a means to an end
I see you

I see you
Fighting everyday to be closer to good
Yet, believing all you touch turns black
Those who seek you out don't rate
Assuming they must be crazy to hang around
I see you

I see you
Happy for a minute and ashamed that you were
Thinking you poison all that  you love
Caring so much that it consumes you
Believing your doing right by cutting loose
I see you

I see you
Feeling like damaged goods
Sitting on the cusp of acceptance
Trying to re-assimilate
But more afraid of success than failure
I see you

I see you
Ignoring what's right in front of you
Pretending it's not deserved
Fighting your demons alone
Afraid to smile and bask in the joy
I see you

Can you see
That you don't have to fight alone
That you are loved just as you are
That you are an imperfect person
But you are still a good man
Can you see that I see the real you

To simply say in words
     I love you more today
     cannot express the truth
of how far I have come

there are only these extremes

Under the universe of forever
the many ways I love you are
like stars that can’t be counted,
     a black velvet sky
     scattered with diamond light
as far as the eye can see

Into the depths of eternity
the many ways I love you are
     like ocean floors uncharted,
     a vast unknown world
     dark and mysterious
as much as the mind can believe

Over the surface of infinity
the many ways I love you are
     like care-free country roads,
     a safe pathway home
     breezy with summer scents
as near to my heart as the wind

Within the confines of my soul
the many ways I love you are
like an innocent child at play,
     a pure joy of life
     lost within a fantasy
as free as the Grace he receives

Like anchors
need a stormy sea
like windows
need a wall
Like stuntmen
need a hole to see
where barrel
meets the falls
like hairless heads
that need a hat
like chess games
need a pawn
like bright stars
need the shepherds
to announce the
birth of dawn
like windswept plains
need summer rain
like bitter
cuts the sweet
like coursing blood
needs purple vein's
continuous repeat
like roadside stands
need fresh picked fruit
like music
needs the mind
like no more striving
in pursuit of
love I cannot find

because I found you

Oh,

Please don't weep,

My love for thou

Shall never vanish,

It only plays hide and seek,

In the shadows of my heart.

I searched high and low to find you a present
But nothing could quite represent to the fullest extent
These feelings that I have for you
That I can only try to construe;
           These words:
                                        I love you

So I made you this card
To try and be avante garde,
And though the prices were low
I just want you to know that
The sound of your voice makes me want to rejoice,
The sight of your face makes me want to embrace,
And that this card is to the girl who has such stlye,
Who always knows how to make me smile.
And this is to the girl who plays the bass guitar,
I love the way that you are.
And this is to the girl who is always so nice,
    Who never fails to entice.
And this is to the girl who is so pristine,
    Who is all about scene,

I hope you have a wonderful sixteen.
