stone the bear
if you
let it
          kindness will flood
             your world,

you can never
     drown.

                     it will be.
                        let it

I've been asked
did you find love?
and I say yes, I did
with the pink glow of a sunset
the smell of salt in the oceans
and the way the cold, blue water
breathes like a weeping accordion
strangely sad which strikes at the core
I found love
in the art of storytelling
in stringing words together
I can climb to a treetop
and yell on the top of my lungs
I am an architect!
I construct words to compose
the most beautiful stories
I analyze and measure,
feel the weight of it
on the tip of my tongue
I fell head over heels
for the visual arts,
for the literacy of colors,
for the symphony of form and shape
for paint to transcend
human imagination
I fell in love,
I am still in love
with chocolate and blueberries,
with pillows and books,
with laughter and road trips,
with peculiar imagination,
with many, sublime things
but mostly I fall in love
with moments and memories
I can share
with others

Within her,
I lose myself,
without her,
I find myself wanting to be lost again.
I just,
can't help myself.
She's the only one that knows me.
She's my 3am thought.
She can see my real worth,
she shows me things I never knew about myself.
And the thing is,
once you see your own worth,
it's hard to be around people that don't.

Let’s get old
and grow bored.

Waste our lives
on a story told.

Grinding days
don’t get greased.

Decaying thoughts
and watching screens...

Live vicariously
Through others dreams.

And watch the attention seekers
in corner store magazines.

Let’s go grey
then pass away…

Sitting in
our favorite stains.

Where we lived slow
and talked about the world...

And watched weather change
And thought,

‘This will be interesting.’

Or how that person once cut off your thought
and you went on about it until your final days.

Ruminating isn't so bad
as we laugh at the things that drive us mad.

Leave behind a legacy
and allow our descendants
the pleasure of doing the same
mundane things.

Work a life
unexplored.

The repetition
of “day and nights” chores...

I forgot to mention
the feelings of love in our lives…

But that’s just fleeting
when everyone dies.

Sometimes when you reach out
no one will grab you.

Sometimes when you reach out
no one will have you.

Sometimes when you reach out
someone will receive you.

Sometimes when you reach out
no one will believe you.

Sometimes when you reach out
no one will understand you.

Sometimes when you reach out
they’ll forget about themselves.

I’d like to believe people
are the tip of the iceberg,

and underneath the surface is a
whole person being kept secret.

*(But kept too long and no one will ever receive it)
