Seán Mac Falls
Little sea,
Cast me in waters most surrounding
And ring me in kaleidoscope of reef,
Gently waving me home, promising
Deep underwater lands.

Little star,
Guide me in my mission of light,
Turn me toward the green valleys,
The blood streams, the noble orchard
And fruitions of dream.

Mary R Short, a new poet and friend of mine has posted a few poems now. When you get a chance, please read her as well and give her a welcome.

Thanks... Joe

At pond she undressed,
Clothes fell as joyful sun rose,
Blushing— twice naked.

What You Get Instead

Sometimes what you ask for
Is not exactly what you get
And the thing that you need the most
Is what you get instead

You may think that you're not lucky
Nothing ever goes your way
But if you see a different side
Your life begins to change

When you see a different side
Have a different point of view
Thats when it seems to all work out
And life is good to you

There comes a time in your life
When you reach a certain  age
And all the things that you want
They all begin to change

Sometimes what you ask for
Is not exactly what you get
And the thing that you need the most
Is what you get instead

Acting Out Of Habit

Acting out of habit
I go about my day
Pretending that the love I feel
Will somehow go away

There is a feeling in my heart
That I hide deep within
A secret love that I feel
Whenever they walk in

I tell myself they're taken
I can never be with them
Knowing that with just a chance
I would let a love begin

I cannot change who I am
Or the way I feel inside
Hopeing they will somehow see
And want me in their life

Acting out of habit
I go about my day
Pretending that the love I feel
Will somehow go away

Acting out of Habit

We lost connection—
Longer pauses on phone lines,
  .  .  .  Last words on a wire.

tranquil
closer than a shadow
in moments retraced
she eclipses the night
gravity prevails

One fence post taller—
Holds round black moons full of death,
Silent wings falling.

Sparks sprinkled in meadows shine,

Is all concrete below ephemeral skies,
To think what is now as already made,
Riding lone, the plateaus of a minds eye,
Or is whole of nature purest esplanade?
