The storm has washed away
And the flowers

long though I reach out my hand
stare at the strange shape of darkness
watch until I understand

cut my claws
cover my teeth
monster watching
underneath

innocent on the outside
darling
look into my eyes

with a jolt to the solar plexus
I thought to myself

"That is the Earth
where I belong

and I am somewhere else"

Pink petals
Swirling up into the sky
Prettiest whirlwind

I know who you are
And I think you're wonderful
Soul became a song

You who bring the stars to life
And bring the worlds to wing
And blow a cool blue Moon into
A thousand shining rings

You who bring the tides to rise
And bring the world to bloom
As shimmering the glitter rings
Fall back into the Moon

I see you in my shadow
in twisted memories
in certain ways

familiar to me

but still I find
myself surprised
by what you say

sometimes I look inside my mind
to see what insights I can find

behind the light
with my eyes closed

Somewhere there are those
Who walk the stars
As we may walk the Earth
Our many worlds that shine like
Grains of sand
Upon their shore

All spiral round a deep abyss
A mimicry of nothingness
I wonder what may walk
Beyond that veil of nevermore

How sharper than a serpent's tooth
This optical illusion is
And deep beyond the veil
How brighter than a thousand stars

The deepest darkest mystery
The turning point
The sanctuary
Who walks the narrow way?
Is there a door beyond the door?

you left my heart wide open
how does it feel to see
these other influences
reaching into me

you took my love for granted
you thought you knew the score
you treated me like nobody
you thought I was still yours

a wild bird in a broken cage
with a new song to sing
now I can know the sky again
now I can feel my wings

The northern world is waiting
It's like time has crystallized
Still frozen, hibernating

And when I walk the winter world
So still and so serene
I spy on time still tightly furled
In hope of tender green

when you do bad things
I forgive you

when you show weakness
I don't judge

although sometimes
I get angry

still I do not
hold a grudge

your imperfections
