whether a dramatic odyssey
or a page
ripped out of your diary

out loud in my head
as I read along

time says
GO
I am standing in my row
like a domino

I understand fear
fear says "run"
fear says "fire"
fear says "gun"

fear keeps us alive
if we keep our head
but step away from its brother:
dread

I don't understand dread
dread says "why try?"
dread says "love is fleeting"
dread says "you will die"

that doesn't help me
to survive
I don't want to feel dread
I want to feel alive

If you believe no one thinks you are beautiful

we walk boldly
through a world
where we can be killed
by a drop of water
a grain of sand

we move mountains
and destroy rivers
determined to become gods
burning down eden
to tear down the stars

but in all our power
we are like children
alone in the night
we tremble
at the open question of darkness
and weep with naked fear

I see what love does
it scares me

I tried to find a way around love

but that hurt more
than the other
kind of
pain

I have to love
it is part of my brain

maybe I can find a way

around the fear

Apple tree
Through the sweet fountains of blooms
I could see our Moon

Filling with hope
Like the spring tomorrow
When the rain
Washes away my sorrow

Peace fills my wings
And the fear disappears

sometimes I think
we hide                inside
so we can                      forget
the scale                         of it all
                 whenever         I            venture                 
      outside                        without       
 these                      walls
I am so small

There are no countries
Or people to see

It's a beautiful planet
Not the only planet
It's a beautiful Sun
Not the only Sun

If you take a step back

It's easy to wonder
About the other ones

So you send them some music

Hope they'll write back to you

So deep in the darkness
Our small world is blue

I wonder who is watching us

shimmering like an oasis

a strange symphony of light

do I dare to hope?

this is not worthy of my shame
it's not worth crying for

The quiet gentle trees

Other kinds of animals
Know what they think about
How they feel
What their songs mean

Most of the time
I can barely understand other people

It is the same

if this is all a part of me
some solipsistic fever dream
why do I choose to manifest
this soul destroying loneliness

reality does not reflect
my deep desire to connect
so I have reached the conclusion
I must not be the only one

An open book
For me to see
A cryptic script
I cannot read

What hidden secrets
Does it hold?
I ask
Though I have seen your soul

And learn your tongue
Your alphabet

To come to know you better
To decipher you

the fear of the unknown
is visceral and real for me

now I feel
its shadow betray its shape
where it falls on me

where did we come from
stones and stars
and why are we the way we are
will we all learn the truth one day
does anybody know the way

is the light on the other side
alive
a dagger of the mind
a warning sign
a glitch in time
why is it so bright
who decides

will we still fight when we are beat
are we a secret we can keep
will we know if we go too deep
is life a language we can speak

will we live on beyond the Sun
where to
and what will we become
we know no matter which direction
we will have so many questions

I believe in myself
I know I am real
Because I think
Because I feel

I might not be
How I appear
But I know
That I am here

The world may be
A grand delusion
Altered wavelengths
Of confusion
Illusional
Balance wheel

But I KNOW that I am real

everyone
runs from the Sun
trying to chase their shadow away
sometimes they might chase you too
if you look like their shadow
or get in their way

when they see their demons in you
hidden desires
a fall from grace
they take up arms to drive away
the silhouette of their own face

I am god
you are god
and there is nothing more

it is all in our mind
there is nothing beyond

it is only a dream
it is mine
it is yours

and our souls
are like shadows
that dance on the wall

we are light
we are emptiness
we are the door

we are all
we are everything

nothing at all

we have not yet been born
we are already gone

this is all just a story
it already was

I move through this avatar
you move through yours

through the smoke and the mirrors
that almost seem real

through reflections
of how this illusion feels

the illusion of distance
that makes us feel lost

missing the oneness
that we forgot

we cling to this world
and forget to be god

sometimes we remember
and that is called 'love'

I am god
you are god
that is all that we are

tomorrow will be different
tomorrow I will make the change
those are such easy words to say
tomorrow isn't a real day

When you are in love
It does not matter
How beautiful other people are

Even the brightest star
Fades into the light
When the Sun shines

Are there still days if there are no more stars?
Eternal night unbroken by the dawn
The darkness was here long before the light
And will be long after the light is gone

The world belongs to all of us
Not companies and kings
To one and all both great and small
The living moving things

If we should choose to burn the world
Today to turn a profit
Tomorrow never is too early
To find our way off it

dark sparkling clouds
deep within the sky where there
is no up or down

     to ask        search        to find       
looking        for       meaning  
                  in the sky              a direction                    
                            where I        the      wanderer

lift the veil
and let you know
every savage part of me
ride the night
the storm below
let the animal be free

we are not really there

the                   no
wheel

deep in this
latticework of consciousness
learn what darkness is

I might as well
chase the Sun
west and west

until
the new day
finds me running

far away

Rainbow bird
Whirls and swirls in a vibrant
Typhoon of colour

Every time someone forgives me
I forgive someone else
And so on until we
Wash the whole world clean

we are made                                                        of nothing
nothing brought                                           to light
   the dark that fell                    upon the stars  
the darkness               brought to life
in an infinite                   regress
the mind cannot       unwrap
we are made of emptiness
we are                      gods
