I manipulated hearts today-
Without guilt I was in control
and it felt good.

With my own hands
I cut them,
With my own hands
I felt them,
With my own imagination
I twisted them until they fit just right.
Just like placing stars in
the magic of the night.

I cut out paper hearts today,
Twenty four of them.
It all seemed perfect,
One heart for every hour-
In a day,
That we're apart.

I moved them,
The hearts,
And shaped them-
And spread them apart,
Like time zones between here,
And Australia.

If only there wasn't a time zone bewteen us,
If only there wasn't your destiny and mine-
If somehow these hearts could beat together;
The rhythm to a love song-
But they cannot...

They're paper thin
hoping to win,
The hands of someone
to hold them.
Sometimes
The darkness invades
And the blade
Calls my name
And I
Am so
Tempted
To answer.

Welcome to America;
You will pour your faith into a dollar
You will feed our corporations
You will get an education
You will have no hesitation
You follow a religion
You will buy into the system
You will love industrialization
You will find an occupation
You will endlessly strive to be rich
You will envy the famous
You will fall behind on your payments
You will pretend you have it all
In hope that someone else will fall
You will believe in us
You will settle for simplicity
You will ignore your own divinity
& We will tell you,
You are free.

Wide, high,
and infinite with clarity.
Yet despite my tries,
the opposite of my mentality.
More than anything
I want to mirror the skies.
Just like the seas
full of their tides.
Full of their waves
and yellow eyes.
And in the end
the seas no lie.
And in the end
just like the sky.
And in the end
nothing of mine.
