Worries of the Injured 2
Butch Decatoria Nov 2017
Joe without his legs
Wheelchair, bedside G.I.
At a meeting
Ruminating and feeling
It’s like A.A.
Rehabilitation games
The system plays War
Craft with missing halves
PTSD R e s p e c t
That ain’t the half
Of the stink and the taint
Sniffing glue
Replacing chipped paint

Joe only worries
If there’s somewheres
To be
After rehab
Need a Lyft Uber quick
Downtown a ton to do
Joe worries arriving in 12 steps

Sponsor anonymously
Befriend responsibly
Joe worries
Like long time friends
His legs
That they won’t work
Like they did back when
He got laid
And was paid
By way of Vietnam
And ****** Uncle Sam.
Joe worries

Of wheelchair accesses
His favorite places without
Doors he’d like to
Fit in
And go on
Living
To be loved like a brother
That no one knew
And no one cares to
Joe feels like
A third wheel
A phantom limb
Who’s bucket list is to
“Invest in the Google”
“Learn how to use
The cloud”

Your umbrella and muddy galoshes

Elvish child of Spring, dancing in the rain.

Lovely as the innocence of being chaste.

Laughter banishing all fears so dark.

On faith, on stars - the color of remembrance…

Wondering if it’s raining where you are?

WINTER (New Year)
Butch Decatoria Dec 2015
The heights' sprite lathering lights, wuthering
are quite beautiful this night...

New years' snow : glitter and streamers.
The Strip, a libidinous concrete highway
thick with the tar of dark secret deeds
manhicular silences seeping between the loud
sidewalks, rivers of crowds bleeding into buildings
monuments of fantasy-loss-reaping.

But the sprite lathering lights wuthering in the heights
are beautiful these coldest of nights

Artificial pulsing of Sierra's fiber-optic heart,
desert of dessert trays for hoarders gorging dust.
America turning cold emoji faces: high front gusts
un-empathy a mask for the races
like blank lakes of lack, like Paris
we're still running from them -- fastest of rats...

The city of lights lathering in wondering
is still a beautiful place at nights, wuthering

Yet sin city structures glamour machines by
lustful feeding hands that slight...
decay as quick as worship
like a slow freezing blight,
eyes kept blind in white
renaissance of our modern day *****
a loveless January night...

Hell is not hot fire & brimstones  - it's winter,
souls fall aside if hearts die without
(stars of Orion's center)

I'm just another lion
raging against the splinter...

But the bright lights in the sky,
spritely gathering in the wuthering storms
are all so beautiful at night
on new years' eve, they pause the war...

while every child makes a dying wish
on star light star bright :
a home far from winter
for the king's love not to splinter...

PAINTING (Loud Moments)
Butch Decatoria Dec 2015
Love is the exquisite pain
The poetry of sultry rain
in unison with our breathing
Fogging the windows

Before the hollow siroccos moan
cold grey lonely
Hallways dim
Velvet  Sorrows
Blackened
Walls of the new moon
void of our lungs'
illustrations

Even now in memory's whisps
How exquisite the frame
Picturesque recollection
Polaroid for the finality of farewell

Just us / ghosts now
Without / but dust / once was
None-such eyes / dilates
Can emptiness be
Felt
En flagrante glaciers
Enflamed diminishment?

Seems the loud moments remain

Drowned the reasons of its thundering
All intentions deigned since
Defeated slump with
No dire aches
Mumbling
       a corpse heavy mind
Lacking a fleet of feeling to combat self hateful
Blight

Gone in the gloom
Which is palpable like the taste of smoke
That carries warning signals to the sun
with the ****** of native drums
Going
Gone
            will o' whispering past

Yet shadows are forgetful in dreams
As we are sleeping to wake
In the beams

Memory echoing from touch
Our bodies quake...
Inspired by much
Hearts rush

And still the loudest feelings remain
An old painting in its frame

Our art as body paint
heaven pouring in
You and I remain
Born not made

(To make)
Love our loudest moment :

Canvas to frame/
A window and the rain...

Tiniest of Tempests
Butch Decatoria Jul 2019
So, grasshopper....
What is love / to someone who is complaining?

Screaming. Wailing /  Proudly prevailing / loudly Reprimanding
Or commanding Bounded feet
Pushing.
Shushing in rushing / Busiest with everyone else's business
Pushing.

Dumbfounded yet Enforcing.
Forcing / mindlessly
divorcing meaning?

Not knowing /  Rather assuming or presuming
To speak not for himself
Instead for us, lauding law, howling for god

What is it without making / any sense? /
Having no reason?
What is love if only a word /
Sung or graffiti tag on walls / Ave. 3rd / blurbs

So to speak / a word / whispers...
Write or read / Flat screen / one dimensional unexperienced /
Word up /  Another billboard's Loud propaganda
"Unt wonder-bar sinfully delicious"
You will OBEY
Says snickers /
Harangue of commands
The replete of a single word / repeat
"Believe"
On and on / carrying calm

And what is forever to an insect? With brief breath
Vampiric      Parasitic     Abuzz
Without purpose but swarm
Wasted waning /  Locust death Landscapes / we barely notice

Cherish just a starving word

So goes my question / Unanswered. Kept
distant. Unproven / underserved
The point is moot /
What is love  / To you?
Without proof Without life
What are eyes without the light ?
What is love if nothing /  If never born
A mind Emotes  /  oceans / swells /

Love ....
The tiniest of tempests
One thought becomes a storm
Felt Like dreams /  Stars for diamond tears
Energy in living form... now asking why / Are we here?
No doubt It is to know love
And so... What is a good word?

Truth (the word of god)

So jump for joy, grasshopper...
Being loved is like being found.
Finally seeing the awe and the wonder.
The clarity of a mind's eye,
life is the dream the heart you must plunder.
the perfect time is now
because this is love, grasshopper
and we are the tempest and peace
the hearts who think...

This must be love
Thank goodness/  for everything….

Sacrilicious science :

(tastes like chicken)
when we try to fly
by the "secret"

wishing and insultations up
denying the absolutes

the selfish flesh is heavy
karma like bone

chaotic hush

and a bruha broom can
only give dust
its flight
the mind in fear
wears death and night

darkling battlefields
have already won
our ignorance its tasty pawn
indifference the after-dung

Sacrilicious science of sleep walking
purgatory fog / thick & dense
(are you?)

they prey our souls to keep
so be mindful of what you believe

like coyotes and roadrunners

hope that God still loves his sheep

Eyes Wide Asleep (2009)
Butch Decatoria Nov 2016
When these days of ours given
mathematical geniuses astrological beasts'
likenesses - to predict a year's character,
which this moment is burdened with
upcoming supposed hardships

like oxen upon the growing fields
(though that animal has known nothing
but to tend its fruition of fertile soil)
we focus with worries interpreted to toil
upon dreading portents from paper place-mats

at East-Met-West dives, eatery-cafe-chinois-cheap
"Which animal falls on your birth year?"
Entertained for a few minutes' read
then emotions in currents associate
horned Two-Thousand-Nine with End Times

Leaving stuffed with after-taste of distractions
day-planner thoughts sifting preparation
and possible aftermath birthdays to come...?
Eyes half-minding the drive home
on interstates turn into a hybrid drone

blank face unflinching - a pondering on doom
wondering how soon?

When our days intersect and collide with each other
almost to the point of not noticing or fugued
Deja Vu - Hindsight blind
because we are engrossed in our daily grinds
disappointments, disillusioned in disbelief

where did that indistructable kid
with mischievous imagination go to sleep?
where did youth misplace its charmed slipper, flee?
Left it behind chasing after Midnight:
dragging and pulling pumpkin seeds with them, mice

hoping for another ballroom
dance with regal dream come-true,
a future prince choosing you - having endured
being good even in chimney soot
and life cat-naps at our desks

employment heavy on our weary flesh
fantasy consumed at lunch in an hour's time
forgetting and ignoring traffic
signs - bright stars or skylines,
eyes wide asleep in living, in sunshine

When our days become half awake
still wide asleep - our vision not quite seeing
how HD crisp beauty slows on dew
or love of life - in radio tunes imbue
days will fly like circus knives

on spinning victim sideshow act
knowing the truth is matter of fact
no better time to live than to feel your moment:
a drop of rain in your hand

Now
wake and be
where you stand...

In Bright Disguise
Butch Decatoria Oct 2019
Half moon high
In a deepening sky
The clouds like spider cotton,
Like blue ivory husks betwixt
Umber grey misty fog,
The diablerie of dusk
Dark sky and stars

The streets flooded,
a river of headlights, flashlights,
Sidewalks’ pedestrian traffic,
An Armada of munchkins, crowds
Strolling by Chinatown’s
Crisp neon plazas,
A necropolis bright with
Cartoon sharp signage
Accessorizing restaurants with
Jade And gold, foot spas
And red doors…
Horrors of hangings
Roast ducks and pigs decapitated…

Yet the evening is dressed finely still
All eyes lurking
Shadows floating by
Not to be forgotten tonight
Dias de las Muertos
En espanol…

While down the road
Neighborhood way
Skitters Lilliputian creatures
In shells of Saver’s costumes
As squeals of laughter festoons
Boulevard life with
Tiny tintinnabulations
Like baby rattlers
Against the dark
(Maracas for chupacabras)

Timorous parent folk
Encouragement as company,
They Scurry past
Down dim spatial street
In demand of what is given freely
From each and every door
Treat and sweets
Caries galore
All their tricks cached in grins
Of baby teeth
turn candy corn…

Mischievously the meek milk
All Hallows' Eve For
Hallowed be the glee
Even tho' beneath
The web of grey cloudy sky
Life is precious
To deny
The thirsty as it rains

Misery’s loss deep dismal graves,
We should live in celebration
Childlike everyday
Sing and dance
In the October rain
In this wonder
Like rattlers against the dark

Far from wastes of
Hollow wind and pain,
Chilling cries, bleeding eyes,
Undead the unseen
From this cirque city of sins
Offsprings on the strip
Fearless on the boulevard
Treating & tricking
With ole candied lies…

Poet dances song in quietude
our dreams throng
down huckleberry roads

Unscripted spoken motions
Mosaic heart emotes

Hope

As he composed
Faces glow so
connect the dots
those consumed disposed

Knowing we're not broken
But in the art we form
as one whole - our garden grows...

Poet paints love with understated eloquence
visions of war never-was

with every tear an ocean
with every dream a peace

all seedling springs.

Poet grants wish
Dances in the street
laughter as he weeps

beauty is what we all seek
to lovingly keep

evergreen

SHE SUFFERS
Butch Decatoria Apr 2016
She was as bright as her virtue
as honest as any new borne / reborn...

She suffers her husband's hand
when it use to lift
her to the heights of moon dance and Valentines,
young love masquerades
since now she clutches beads
rosary pearls and holds distance
as a barricade
the space of air for breathing
the length of hand to mouth
bereavement

She suffers acquiescence / quick-step /
tango / running man
by his command - Miller - Bud
Colt45 on hand
she is maid a waitress cook on call
an olive skinned blow up doll
it must have been love
she suffers the fall...

She lies every way every day
at every party guest & passersby,
a mental check list to memorize
sculpts her husband in marble
a pillar to look up to
while she fears to be left
alone / behind
when it is closing time...

She suffers desperado Jane
at the end of her rope
never had harmed a soul,
but hers in giving to such love
in this living
she suffers hell / enough...

Fall asleep angelically
a fistful of prescription tears and drink
oh to dream would be a kindness
a sliver of hope / she thinks
of no more bruises or dread
of dying / knife of kisses
or scythes of apologetic ***
nights of kneeling
to be barren and unworthy
to usher in new life

she suffers vex and hexes
in silent graces
as she exhales the last of her nights
memorial of starry eyes
in youth in love
in his hands
uplifting
now clear of tears / for fears /
with better sight
her heart on love needs correction
from her ghost of recollection
since past and now
have no reflection
on the grace that mothers Tao

She suffers epiphany
anew and laughing at the site
below
that double wide / coffin /
cacophony of supremist white...

When her inner heart flies right
She suffers no longer longing or apart
all our dreams and graceful light
carried within
an ark

She suffered not from drowning
but a prey
upon the heart
This ends
as she again will also
start ...

BODIES NOT OUR OWN
Butch Decatoria Feb 2016
“The thing about love is that we come alive in bodies not our own”
--Colum McCann (Let The Great World Spin)

How often have we departed,
Only to return for those accomplishments
Yet to be attained
in complete relinquishing of all chains.

Doubt is kicked aside like boxer briefs
Allowing our starkness to trust the ease
Of limber flight its heights
when bodies feel more of heaven
removed from themselves

as if an out of body replacement
in each other’s unexpected ache and deprivation

There is nothing more immense of touch
Than to experience it with/&/in another
To become elation and levitation without wings

Love if only a brief conjuring of taste
is better explained in skins met and kept
oddly artistic  - like fetal sleep -  its shape :
Two minds, their temples, composed and content

At their waist:  **** / umbilical / magic spent.
Hearts between them beat, overcome
by rhythms from heaven, sent…

how often than not, have we left such captions
of shared life / ecstasies
to the halls of unremembered
the ill-equipped journeys by the ignorant
by the newly seeing youth that we were

rushing ahead for bigger sensations to better
the previous fun, without caution, defunct on ***
dizzy inside maelstroms overwhelming, yet freeing...

Behaved as anyone would at losing sight
following no roads displaced eyes not to recognize;
all thoughts scrupulous doors, dreams mapped absurdly

fearless Jenga of a life, a leaf in the wind falling from Sky

naïve belief - its all good, yet lonely numb inside
still the hollow hungers and also hurts
misplaced pathos, uncaring of worth your dirt...

How do we evolve without wellbeing or love
why are we, if not measured for the crown of kings?
How often do we listen before our voice is strong enough to sing?

Loving through gifts of our intermingled feelings
Bodies we speak wordless into being, one skein of light
From pitch dark and lost reasons, wakes to its pealing
Night is as beautiful in light’s mystic gleaning
Found in another’s succor, two bodies divinely beaming…

What genius evening keeps secret and moribund...

His foot falls echo the chill of November deep
Tapping, clapping, wrapping
His man heavy fragility in wool

How distant and suddenly wide is the night.

What shrewd skills fear casts--a mask,
That evening keeps him wary, attentive as wax,
For Shadows shed no comfort for this lamb,

His rhythm once lord of the dance.

Pulsing toes as eyes flash to every creak, whispers;
The Depth of sightlessness made paranoid
by twisted twilight shapes, shifting, nerves frozen with haste…

His weakness, not knowing, a pallid winter on his face.

Even now the slow climb upon his back
Carried by the slip of a breeze laying waste,
A soundtrack of dead leaves and black.

His foot falls stomping to clash and map
A stroll as reality saves nothing sincere, when fear
Deepens in his bones resolve to panic...

What genius a weapon: dark flights of fancy

And the conditioning of youth to preconceive,
Strange and delicate spaces between the ears
Defeated before finding a sure foot

Before reaching a well lit street
Familiar and familial suburbs of a mind
Diminished by the subterfuge of fear…

His foot falls turn a corner
And the sound of concrete and conflict
Disappear…

BLACK IS NOT ONE COLOR
Butch Decatoria Jun 2016
Black is not one color
but all of 'em in one

Black is not a face nor a person,
Not a baller nor ***...

it is the period when this sentence is done .

Maybe black is the ooze
that drowns sea and fish

or is it that ***** young'un
all hungry with wish

Black is certain as black is your eye
when you're fighting just to prove your right
(or keep one's rights alive)

Oh yes, black is what makes the stars shine bright
while under it--knocking boots aside...
no matter what, love is also made
in the darkest of nights...

So why would somebody
as golden as me
care about one crayon
or a stripe of a bee?

Because if nothing is wrong
then our skin shouldn't be
or much worse  --whipped til it bleed...

There is nothing more to say,
but let each embrace teach you

Question all history, but now just do you

as long as eyes can take a look
know your neighbor, love that crook
experience and love is not from a book.

Now I'll sit next to you
since we ride the same bus,
do you get to know my color
or speak to living dust?

Black may be just a word
that fear blinds from our trust

Still all the colors in one
black is beauty under the sun,

til time is rust, til gone is done...

So speak truly and be free
Love the same as all of us
Cherish blues and greenest trees
Since we do ride that same ole bus...

No words need screams or fistful hate
Cuz Black is Moonwalking
up to the Pearly Gates,
where the boogie cannot wait

and the blind finally wake...

Let us run to the beach,
Through the night's navel, lichenous
Inflated by escape and something new
For just the rush / the sensation

Like bodies aloft from kiss

Of youth / full / of mischief.

We'll leave the night a peeking eye
while in the meditation of surfers
Early sparring with willful morning
Waves / puppets of gravity & moon

So wax upon fingers of great monsoons
Should the tides ride high it's might
and fly to god's white laughter too soon
At least we've glean the world between
With wings of sunkist sailing heights
Dreams unfurled in gold morning light

Hurl toward the awe of love for life
Completely free as one with chi,
Let this be an ode, an unscripted history
a mandarin and blue backdrop scene

And I will be perched on the shore
Shakespeare's heartfelt pen / pining ardor
Adoring the balconies and open doors
of such romances / daring devils for more

Tho' a grain of sand to everything
Now just a set of eyes

Audience for the world and skies

Belisimo !

I applaud as fish and man fly
Nod as the sun sets the stars to night
As in twilight to midnight
As the moon smiles

Bravo!

Through the belly of the unseen
We have crawled
Now we are in the poetry of awe
Watch onlooker as the stage curtains
Paints it's strokes
Blood rose clouds and deep
Blues from burning
Pinks

Magic show in a wink

This deserves a standing ovation
I lift both hands high
This must be love
I cannot deny

Some kind of wonder
Full of infinite and muse
All epic and classic
Watched without shoes...

In all these things
Time and motion
(In a seashell)
Listen to the ocean.

THE PROFUNDITY OF SHEEP
Butch Decatoria Dec 2015
I will follow you
and call it love
to the edge and the ends
of our earthly bed
by your pipers' song
trusting your will : my blindness
because I do not fear

your Love.

Teach me and lead as a shepherd would
my own wisdom bleats
no depth nor words worth hearing
since speech belittles the lesson
and removes much meaning

the gifts that Love gave

Pull me forward and away
to awe instead of weep
the heavens in your embrace
where there is no place for doubt
no panic but for the grave...

I trust that I must matter
even as a speck of dust
you carry me through winter
to rainbows
reminding me that

All is One (Love).

Even as I wallow in the hollows
of no self worth
you mean to me as I'm meant to be
since time was given birth
the golden truth
the Light of you

Though I'm a speck of dust...

Flooding tears upon the eye
no worry
or boundaries
No bleating cries

There is no Falling
when you, my love, are my every
sky.

STAY & WALK
Butch Decatoria Aug 2016
To the classic cliche'
which says to
"walk a mile in someone else's shoes"
for empathy to understand

should the mouth mean nothing

rather we are already
understood
what was between an open hand
and what is good...?

(this can only be something
from nothing, i witness you)

Yet I could never presume to know someone
other than myself, even tho'
I am who I am,
discovering
The more I like
who it is - I am
Now
          when I am
As I am.
Even then.
So...

Why walk alone?
(a mile for who?)

I would rather walk alongside you

Bridge the distance between us
along the way gain trust
                         "Hey, I dig your shoes"
politely mean what you say
                         "Please and Thank you's"
Besides,
I meant to go
in this direction, any way...

&
Of course,
You are as welcome in your steps
moving forward

And if I am welcome as your guest
I will be moved
to have known reward
all the miles with you.

Still, I must confess, I just can not
presume to
know all or nothing

All about that, there
you...
But what I do know now
getting to know you more
somehow

When there is no wall
or hate between us
no fear or threats of war

I will wish you peace

At the end
tales of shooting stars

thru' sickness in our wealth,
the pleasant truths are moot

with you
I am more comfortable

walking in my own shoes...
beside
the one who is true
Forever
And Always
on my mind...

@@@

Cliche' you are welcome to stay
and have some rest
since cliche's your name and it means "tired"
I should know I walked
alongside you - little bird on a wire...

I'll have the pleasure
of such company, deign in, but
truth be fair,
weathers we have suffered
still together, mon ami
do declare - the weight of your baggage
because we band as brothers (drafted)
Of other mothers
Milk nostalgia...

I will prepare and always
bother
to care ...
all for the other.

Stay and walk
                  with me...*
Beside
The lonely waters...

INSPIRATION IS DIVINATION
Butch Decatoria Jan 2016
A wave of a hand
a wand
a wink
             a nod   or  blink

a winged kiss...

You wriggling your nose
spurns me to rub your lamp

I dream of you
as I often can,
           magically and wishfully
divine your eyes

What curse or bliss
to be abused by your smile
from the muse of your wiles
all the while

in our Utopian isolation
no image of what must
or emulation of their love or
such none-such

"you'll die, oh you just must"
dumb struck crush

while we paint ourselves tender
in writhing naked laughter
our own canvas
signed by us...

and only just
ourselves to Van Gogh
"Water Lillies"  and
"Starry Nights"
       in your blush...

there I can see the future
of your worth
a masterpiece of our colorful theatre
inspiration's lovely birth

in the museums of my lungs
in my life
the art we shape with time
with touch...

what curse or bliss
this wish
come true

a wave of a hand
a wand

                        Our winged kiss.

My One Commandment
Butch Decatoria Jul 2019
Un-parch and part our seas
of need
                             " Be True  "
All kisses kismet
For your being
In my motives, complex
And your presence resolute
Is like Moses to the mountain
Defiant to Pharaohs
To fleeing as they wail and wretch
Dry reticent's / fake to make
Gilding what they deem
In themselves as golden truths
A society with no relief or boon
like swarms they only teem
with beauty in masquerade sand
still sly as any thief
With stealthy hands,

A house of cards
All ready for the fall
Weak in their deceits... Replete
Of teeth
and walls...

Build me instead no regret
No slaves / compelled or bade
But choice free to make
In devotion's open season
Not entombed / embalmed / awe of death
Rather a heart in spades, life with breadth
No commandments made  barricade
But our names reclaimed instead

No fear of darkness never-was
yet
Alive even in death.
For we are freedom
We are loved

A nest, a hut, a cave
A tower, skyscraper / a home
Our kiss in the shade
A Genesis
Resurrection roads
The Universe / all oceans of O
Lovingly we will wade

Again and again
inhale
sweet life's rhapsodies
and the rose...
again and again / our song
at the up-most

Understanding without anger or books
Conceding and agreeing
It is all good
This is us
And now in hush
Eyes beyond sight must
Open / See : the Empathy
questions keeping note
asking not acquiescently
In who's company?
Why,  by Love's infinite dynasty
Now know
No one is lost when already home

Love is much stronger
Is further thrown
Than any tablet made of Stone.
                   " Be true "
And in this moment
Awaken
              (Absolute)
Always not almost
                  Beloved soul …

In the light no lies)

I is for the intonations
Invitingly as human
Imagine our imperfections' illusory connotation
As derivative as medications
For dreamless infarctions
I is unimportant as the quarks
Our atomic precipices
Sleep hence frightening
Mad unrestlessness
I is for irksome individuality
Askance and inhumane
In conclaves of murderous murmurs of erudites
Godly Invictus convictus
Power Interest can't reverse dust
Indivisible I
Is for interference,
Incarcerated indemnity
Futility of cages.
I the innerchild rages,
The living planet ablaze
Heaven lost in ashes
A maze of biblical haze
I is for indifferent
Intoxicated in ****** traipsing
Lost to immovable beliefs
Ashes of illusions
Masters of dust.
I is for the inexplicable
Imperfect human love.
Indivisible.
In who's god to trust,
Soul sucker preacher?
I is for illuminations
Truth as teacher.
Light life proven
Man still individual
Dangerous a shrewd
Creature.
Vaccinate bad teachers,
Pledge allegiance to the truth.
We all learn --life is our school
Don't hurry back, it's not safe.

Afternoon Delighted

Don't come, not yet...

But if you must

Take me with you,

At least delay until I come too...

Let's slow the pace of heightened

Heartbeats, breaths - red

Hot like the blood flow

The flush on faces,

The temperature of noon o'clock...

I know you love it

When we both come together

Sweetly stuck together

Like magazine pages of **** pictorials

Quickly now, nutcracker unload,

These Late lunches that glues us

Together.

Overtime doesn't feel so much like work,

And you leave with a smile,

A bill on the counter.

A brief insult to my prideful high,

This hookers going to buy

Some lingerie

On her lover's dime.

How delightful to waste time...

Sunday poolside

Prelude for tomorrow's Spring,

It's first day, midway in March,

Weeks away from the month of May.

And I decide to cool my inner heat

In the gurgling soup of the jacuzzi

Whiles the unaccompanied tweens scream

And play a made up game

A hybrid of polo basketball and puberty...

No clue how conversations start,

But a friendless me talks and talks

Unable to stop, even when they disperse...

I talked to myself mostly,

Or if they were listening, the ears that heard,

Advice on life, trying to wake up the herd

The void wears a teenager's face

And in the sounds of summer

This prelude day to Spring,

Splashing and laughter and a toddler's cooing

I observe my voice drifting

Up and through the fence of steel bars

Eroding, rust colored water

On grey cement and murky turquiose...

I talk and it feels like I'm under water

Their attention span as transient

As Vegas itself...

I talk about myself honestly,

I gave them real advice

From the mistakes of friendless me,

what it will take to succeed

For a future they could care less about

And Life!

Must of talked about nothing

Talked mostly to myself

The day before spring, all heat and not much else,

I felt something hollow then

Recognizing Hell

The void mimics reality well

when was it I fell?

*(Sensing greys in their shells... The rising heat...

Midnights distant tolling... Trumpets and bells)

Poet dances song in quietude

our dreams throng
down huckleberry roads

Unscripted spoken motion
Mosaic heart emotes

Hope

As he composed
Faces glow so
connect the dots
those consumed disposed

Knowing we're not broken
But in the art we form
as one whole - our garden grows...

Poet paints love with understated eloquence
visions of war neverwas

with every tear an ocean
with every dream a peace

a seedling springs.

Poet grants wish
Dances in the street
laughter as he weeps
beauty is what we seek

to lovingly keep
evergreen

and free.
A new title makes it a whole new poem. Love it.

Within me saying

Without doubt or fear

Saying:*

"At your mortal sunset
       Your immortal star rises"

"In demensions of spirit and light
       Rules all the realm"

"A-new dawn is also there,
       In the dark opposite-sides"

"Two are One and the same

Deaf is a mind that doesn’t
        mind being blind.
Mute: We heralds of the Light,
Need not speak or see
       nor listen in
They do what they do, they lie
     demons in the nights, howling
Beastly feircely maul all things alive
We have that glow with soul, so
Life alights —down below, in deep dark holes,
Hell in the mind can foul the soul.
They **** us in our glass house, fracked for gases
Gold to the bearded dumb-*****
Stole from the masses, sold stone cold;
Their logic, reason, & common senses,
Intelligence without defenses,
      thoughts get twisted, relented…
Evil will pretend to be a friend,
And wins if none care to even defend (this).
Thusly overrun by roaches,
Not the insects but human locusts…
Consumers’ consumption, it’s in the bank,
Fracking the garden blank…

Of impossible delights
Who argues with it it's flight

In a sky without the light
Incapable to be free

I am now a ghost
Here reading poetry
It's living years:
A breeze through eyes
Filled with tears

A gargoyle pacifying all fears
Past the night

This is a wish, a kiss, deep
A hopeful sigh
Hands bound, fingers clenched
For Love to deliver me
From here/now
To a place called perfection
Infinitely

I am fish/sparrow
Swimming in the in-between
Looking to always see...

No end to the ends

Sunrise and free.

And I swear to you, God is a woman

Since nothing is as astonishing
a universe thus designed
and beauty made paramount
Love lifted toward divine

So God is a woman, a mother to birth us all
yet like most mothers
who perish at the thought
will relinquish the needy virulent babe
turn her back like stones : a wailing wall
remembering our better days

tough love can spurn
but does return
we are family after all

born not made
to rise not fall
all that mother gave
this which love has saved.

Peace be with you
and Namaste.
